NFL Games of the Year
Week 1 of the NFL preseason kicks off tonight with four games on the betting board, most notably the return to game-action for one Tom Brady. Brady and the Patriots are 3-point underdogs in their visit to Philadelphia.
Despite the full slate of preseason betting action this week, I?m looking ahead to Week 2 of the regular season to see if there are any spots to jump on.
SPORTSBETTING.com will soon be putting out lines on every NFL game, from Week 1 through Week 17 with their new Prospective Bets, but right now they have the NFL Games of the Year posted up in the NFL props section.
Week 2 of the regular season sees a number of notable Games of the Year, including the first-ever regular season game played at the Dallas Cowboys? new state-of-the-art facility.
Who will help christen the new stadium? The divisional rival New York Giants. This should be a great game. The Cowboys are favored by 2.5-points for the stadium?s regular season debut.
Dating back to 1986, the Cowboys have the edge against the Giants in home games during the month of September, going 4-2 straight up and 5-1 against the spread.
Dallas is also very impressive when favored by 4-points or less, going 9-0 SU and 8-1 ATS.
In the Giants? last nine games when underdogs of 4-points or less, they?ve gone 6-3 SU and 7-2 ATS.
Another game of interest involves the team that made the biggest trade in the offseason - the Denver Broncos traded QB Jay Cutler and a draft pick to the Chicago Bears for QB Kyle Orton and draft picks.
Cutler and the Bears will be in tough during Week 2 when they host the defending champion Pittsburgh Steelers?Chicago is listed as a 2-point home ?dog.
In their last eight games where listed as underdogs of 2-points or less, the Bears are 3-5 ATS.
In the last six games where Pittsburgh is favored by 2-points or less, they are only 1-5 ATS.
Preseason betting and regular season NFL betting?it?s a great time of year.
