Was browsing a few days ago and , I cannot remember who, but someone was high on KC this year....as a team that may really improve on last years numbers.....my thoughts concur and they seem to be a GOOD candidate for a team that will fly beneath the radar of most.....as a much improved team early on...

Does anyone have thoughts or a team that looks good to really improve numbers this year but may not get the glamour and publicity of say the Redskins.... Might they be a "go against" early on ???

I am one of the believers that KC will be a big sleeper this year. I am not saying they will get to the playoffs, but right now I think they are being widely overlooked. Vermeil is a proven coach with a proven track record of turning teams around over 2 or 3 years. This is his second year as a coach, I look for them to be constantly overlooked by the oddsmakers this year.

One of my big pending plays right now is KC +3 in the Week One.

If they play Frerotte instead of Kitna, the Cincinnati Bengals.

Ninth ranked defense in the league last year, comprised of younger players who are only getting better...should finish near the Top 5 this season. Smith will become a household name by the end of the season...double digit sacks and the Pro Bowl for him. Running game is excellent with Dillon and an underrated O-line. Hopefully Westbrook can play 12-14 games and stay relatively healthy at WR. Only areas holding this team back are at QB, and I would much rather have Gus steering the ship than Kitna...I would even prefer Akili Smith over Kitna...and their is no kicker. Rackers sucks and Dorsch hasn't done much in preseason (what a waste of a pick that was).

Schedule is weak...save for Pitt, every road game is winnable..at Atlanta, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Houston, Baltimore, Carolina, and Buffalo to finish the season on a winning note. At home they get San Diego, Baltimore, Houston, Jacksonville, Cleveland, New Orleans, Pitt, Tennessee, and Tampa. Nine wins is definitely a possibility.

Being a Bengals fan, it makes me proud to see that other people have faith that they should improve this year. I think Kitna should start in the beginning while Frerotte still learns the offense. Frerotte has made some telling mistakes in the pre-season, but I think he will probably be starting before season's end. I also think that Akili will have at least one start this season. The defense has definitely improved even on their impressive performance last year. They have been knoced for taking Jones at the 10 spot, but I think people will be swiftly placing their foot in their mouth when they see him play.

My pick for a team that could greatly improve is the Falcons. Not so much on an influx of talent, but for a huge boost in team morale. The Georgia Dome may be a tough place to play fo visitors this year because the tickets were being sold as low as $100 for the season. Vick getting scuffled the other day could be a factor, but all reports were negative on injury.
