A relatively easy Week 2 with most of the big favorites won (and covered), i hope all the suicide pool playas are still alive.

Unfortunately, not too many people were eliminated in my pools (same for you guys I guess ?) so we"ll have to keep chugging along.

For Week 3, i am looking at the following puppies

Miami: Scary pick in a sense but the Titans and Kerry Collins are very close to pure garbage. At least the 'Fins has a pretty good D.

Baltimore : Another somewhat risky pick here fellas, especially with the way McNair has been directing the offense but Cleveland has shown absolutely nothing to me so far.

Ballsy calls with Detroit and Buffalo...I'll have a look at these 2 later on.

If you guys have strong leans one way or another, let's hear it!

Good luck to all and Surviving we shall!!

I used the Ravens this past week as did about 75% of my pool. I'm leaning very strong to the Dolphins. As you said, Tennessee is just horrendous. Culpepper is bound to snap out of his funk and no better time than now.

Best of luck to all!

Taking the Dolphins. Its a great spot for them... and its not like there is any use 'saving' them for later... This is about as good as a spot as they will be in.

I think the only other choice is Buffalo if you want to gamble. However... they have Green Bay and Tennessee at home later on down the road... when it will be getting mighty cold in Buffalo and the home field advantage is big. They get the Jets this week... and they have looked frisky. I'll 'gamble' with the Bills later on this season if I am still going.

GL guys.

Not sure if you guys take much notice of history/trends...

...but I wouldn't be taking Miami this week at all!!

Tenn in a 11-3 SU situation as a dog...3-0 SU as a 10+ dog!

Miami are in a an 8-7 SU situation as a 7+ fav, but just 2 teams that were favs of 10+ both lost SU!!

Sure, Tennessee have looked terrible so far, but plenty of teams will get belted @ SD...and statistically they hung with the Jets.

I really think Miami are very beatable this week.

MrChirsto: Trends are always nice to look at but I believe situational angles are just as important.

Green Bay, Tampa and Oakland got shut out in Week 1 and the trends tell us to bet on them to rebound in Week 2. As we all know, those 3 teams stink and all lost straight up and didn't cover.

Strong leans for Miami for now, i agree if they don't win now, they might as well kiss their season good-bye.

The only question I would have about Miami is that they are averaging just 11.5 pts per game and are being asked to lay 11.0. I know Tenn is not so good (at least for now), but this 'is' the NFL. At the same time I've learned to be leary of any dog getting more than 7.0 (in the NFL). If forced to bet I would have to take the dog here.

kerry collins is 7-28 his last 35 starts.

i'm guessing as soon as he starts to suck again, we'll see more VY in the game. so far his running has been good but his passing is still a little erratic. some passes are perfect, some not. going against Tenny is probably a good choice.

i'm going with detroit. GB's defense is complete crap and i think the Loins take advantage of it after having to face 2 good defenses in Chi and Sea.

as far as Buffalo, I cannot put my money on JP Loseman to win. The Jets beat Tenny on the road and gave a good NE squad a run for it at home. They arent terrible and could easily upset Beefalo.

I have 4 picks in my pool (800 people, so I take a couple picks). I have a little room to wiggle, as I would hope I can at least pick a 2 winners out of 4 :scared

Note, I like to stay away from road teams and national TV games. I also don't like taking a team that is on a long losing streak

That being said, here are my picks from most to least confident

1) Miami - they have gone against 2 solid defenses, I think they are looking forward to this game as a chance to show their offense. If you look at the schedule, this is probably the only time miami will be a viable pick

2) Balt - I hate taking road teams, but they are in probably the toughest division, they cannot afford to blow meaningless games. with 4 games between cincy and pitt, they will be focused to win the games they need too.

3) Arizona - STL has not looked good, I think arizona is going to be a team that is tough to beat at home. They have a solid offense and should be able to put up points

4) Det or Buf - Favre sucks in domes, but det has shown no offense. When it comes to picks, I would like to take a team with a solid offense and suspect defense over a suspect offense and solid D. detroit has neither, buffalo at least has a good defense

I like Philly, I just don't like taking teams that are going cross country. I also really like NE, but I hate taking National TV games and I also think with the teams that are available this week, NE should be saved until later (they have Det and Hous at home later in the season)

Weeks 6 and 7 are going to be tough weeks, week 6 has a bunch of strong teams on a bye and week 7 has a bunch of weak teams on a bye. My advice would look at those weeks, you may want to save miami until week 7 when they have GB at home

guys let me help you here. When you have a shot at a terrible team you go for it. Take Detroit. You guys are not playing this game with the brightest ideas. So far i have gotten rid of San Fran and the rams. I will go with detroit this week. This is the best chance they might have all year to win. this team sucks but Gbay is worse.

You guys should try a 'losers' pool like we do, where you pick a team to lose every week. You might say, 'well, thats the same thing, except picking the opposite way'. Well not exactly; This week for example picking jacksonville to lose is a good play (is jax ever gonna be this big an underdog this year), while in a winners pool i wouldn't pick indy, cause there will def. be a better spot to pick them later on. Just an idea to toss out there........

I know dude... was just bustin' your balls.... Miami did barely enough to win...
honestly Jayhawk if you took Detroit im sorry about that. One thing i hope i never do is cause someone to lose money. also the only way you can compete in that game is to get rid of some dogs earlier. their is a bit of luck involve to. I lost my one survivor game and i was sitting nice in it. Sometimes i go to the well one to many times.. I still have one left tho.

Congrats to all Survivors

I managed to move on to Week 4 after Miami pulled out a very ugly win.

Very unimpressed with the Dolphins and full credit to the Titans but the end result is what counts.

Good luck to all, we will gather our thoughts again sometimes next week and as always, Surviving we shall!.
