You know how it's said that people like to cherry-pick facts to make their point? This would be about the clearest example I can remember.

Let's go down the list:

Saints - we're counting renovations as new stadiums? Ok fine; noted. That will be relevant in a minute.

Patriots - yes, Gillette Stadium opened in May 2002, which was 3 months after the Patriots won their first Super Bowl. Yes, they've won 5 since. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it has more to do with Brady and Bellichek than their stadium, particularly since they won one before they played a single down there.

Eagles - new stadium in 2003; Super Bowl W in 2017. Bit of a delayed response but yeah ok sure.

Broncos - new stadium in 2001; Super Bowl in 2016. Again, a delayed response but the bigger point is that they won back to back Super Bowls in 97 and 98 so pretty tough to argue that the new stadium brought them any luck.

Colts - my personal favorite (and least favorite). No, 2008 was not the year the Colts beat the Bears in the Super Bowl. That would be 2006. You know who had recently had a major stadium renovation in 2006? The Bears (in 2003).

Steelers - 2 Super Bowl wins since 2001. Also 4 before that. They are tied for the most SB wins in NFL history, and 2/3 of those came before their current home.

Seahawks - 1-2 in Super Bowls. You forgot about the loss to the Steelers in 2005.

And you are trumpeting the 49ers with their new stadium in 2014 while completely forgetting that their opponent this week (the Vikings) just opened a new stadium in 2016.

This is normally where I hammer home the point that "correlation is not causation" but I'm hard-pressed to find even any correlation here.
