LW 5-5
YTD 49-67-3
Obviously it hasn't been a good year, with a lot of losses. This is for fun (with a little $$ involved), so I don't get too worked up about any 1 game. I have to admit, though, that the Houston game bothered me, but also highlighted the nature of gambling. Had Texans +7. I know, I 'm asking crappy team to play hard vs a better team. But in this case I was going against Watson in his first game, and against a middling run D. Now, again, putting hard earned money on Kyle Allen isn't smart, but he has won games in the NFL. Anyway, 2 defensive TD's and a punt return TD later (zero offensive TD's, just 2 FG's) and it's a loser. Anyway, there's no moral here just venting, and to say that even "lock" games turn on unexpected plays (and no, I don't buy into the fixed game thing). Not sure I fully buy that you can't handicap turnovers, but you certainly can't handicap D and ST TD's. Enough. Onward.
After reviewing the picks they seem to have a common thread.
Pitt -2 Wish Lamar was playing so I could get pts instead of laying. Balt not as good as their record, but they have done what's needed. Not today.
Cincy -4 Another anti-Watson pick
Dal -17 Love getting big pts in the NFL, but Hous was down 30-0 to Mia at the half a few wks back. Same here, but Dallas doesn't let them backdoor
Tenn -3 Hate laying pts w/ Tenn, but they need a good effort here
Tenn >41- Banking on Lawrence's toe being OK
Buff -10 Kudos to the Jets, but this is strictly an anti-Mike White play.
Sea -3 Fading Sam Darnold
TB +3- Mr. Irrelevant looked OK LW. Maybe he will this week as well, but I'm not buying.
LAC >55 Probably be 13-10
