Trade rumour- Calgary to trade Iginla & Turek to Philadelphia for Chechmanek, Gagne, Brendl & another player. Now, this probably won't happen but financially it does make sense. Iginla is making 5.5 Million US this year, 7.5 next year. Apparently Gagne is locked into a "low-paying" contract. I believe Turek makes around 4 Million. Flames would shed Millions off their payroll, and they might have to do that to keep the team in Calgary.
Iginla has struggled this year, but he is not a 50 goal scorer, more like a 30 goal scorer. He has a hip injury and a groin injury that hasn't been made public. In fact, he is a gametime decision for tonight. He hasn't practiced for 4 days...
