Memphis -4 over Temple.
Tough game to capp because Greer is not susposed to play.Cheney said"no way".If thats the case I'll take the quicker and more athletic Tigers.Calipari and Cheney just love each other. They both are about even with each other head/head.Can't wait for the post game press conference.
Temple has come alive the 2nd half winning 12-14.With Greer doing a "Nancy Kwan" at freedom hall they still went out and beat Nova.Don't think they can do it again.Hawkins and Wesby really stepped up.RollyPolley and Lyde did a good job on Nova.
But Memphis has some greyhounds in the backcourt and frontcourt.Wagner will be matched up with Cheney's match up zone.Cheney has altered his typical zone to another 1-4 "ball zone".It's different then his old 2-3 or 1-3-1 match up.Calipari has seen the old one many times. But I think he can adjust his attack to penetrate the zone and get decent open shots.
Wagner is rumored to go pro.The NY papers are saying he could be the Knicks lottery pick. His buddy McFadden can shoot the lites out.Inside Massie is so much quicker then the 2 Offensive tackles of the Owls.Add Barron,Wise,Erwin and Diarra in the paint and you could have big matchup problems for Cheneys kids.
If Temple takes away Wagners penetration calipari will attack the wings on ball reverses and entry passes to the post.
Memphis defense is OK and should be able to stop the wings and post.W/O Greer penetrating, dishing, and shooting 3's I can't see temple hanging around the entire game.
Close 1st half.Memphis pulling away with 6-10 minuts left and winning by 8-10 pts.

SC -2.5 over Cuse
The Cuse has played at the Garden so many times. The crowd will be behind them.Shumpert should get some good looks with Williams and Thues attacking.Warrick has arrived. In last 3 games he is avg.12 pts and 10 bds.Duany can slash and shoot. This team is still overated somewhat. No post players.Williams will go solo with half of Patterson,NJ coming to see him play. I have 2 friends at the game courtside. They promised me they are going to yell out to Williams during the game,"DeShawn,go pro, your a lottery pick, etc, etc. He'll be hoisting 3's from 32nd Street[The Gardens on 33rd]

SC beat Miss and Kentucky in SEC tourney.Damn, those teams are tough. There not playing in the Dome.Cuse away from home play different.SC beat Vir away and won at home vs UNLV and Ball St.
Boynton is coming home to NYC and half of Brooklyn will be there.Bradley can shoot.Lucas,Kitchings Eipson are all solid.Kitching at 6'10 is a good post player.Petravicius at 6'10 will also cause matchup problems.
Just think the SEC team not selected to the Big dance is better then the BE team that can't dance.

Best of luck Fletcher and Raymond.

Thanks bear and Znine for the kind words.
Raz,Cheney sure out coached him.He extended the zone to almost half court traps. When teams do that you have to go over the top to attack it and then make them pay a price for spreading out so much.Calipari attacked it playing with east-west passes, and skip passes.Cheney's players can react to those.
A great way to attack Temples match up is put your pt gd or another good dribbler in the middle by the FT line flashing. If he gets the ball around the FT line he has Lyde on him.He turns dribble penetrates and hits Wise or another wing cutting to the the blocks. It was open the whole game. When a defense is so far out and extended you pound that in to make them pay for it.Wagner penerated a few times but he was out of control.
Shouldn't of gone against old Owl Face.
At least SC came in for me.

What do U think Cuse will do against the owl defense? Can they or will they crack it better than Memphis did?

Thx again
