On Thursday, the school sent an e-mail saying it had decided against the handshake -- which is part of a sportsmanship initiative coming from the American Football Coaches Association -- "after much deliberation among our coaching staff."

First, I was going to make some comment about coaches not being in control of their team. Then I remembered UGA/UF year-before-last, and was going to make a comment about coaches who are in control of their team. I think I'll just say that coaches sure aren't what they used to be.
