No, I'm saying our taxes pay for those things. What makes medical any different? We should just be consistent and privatize the fire department, police, all schools, and the military.

We accept socialism on so many levels already. Why is health care for some reason wrapped up in the American flag with a bumper sticker slapped on, yet these other things are purely socialist and nobody complains about it?

I think it's the AMA and Insurance Companies that are working in collusion that have screwed us. They are the real terrorist.

Smurph, I asked this question in another thread but I'll go ahead and ask it here.

When do we stop? If we have our government take over healthcare, what's next?

Oil companies because our gas prices are getting out of wack.

There has to be a line somewhere. I understand people need health insurance and the prices have gotten out of control but why don't they put together a group of people to solve the cost rather than just take it over?

In another thread Duff mentioned that Obama said that Primary Care providers would make as much as specialist and that people don't need to be going to specialist the way they do. Primary care physicians should be taking care of it. Well there's a big reason why they're not and it's because of liability issues. They don't make enough to cover themsevles from being sued so they pass it on to specialist who can better diagnose and treat the patients without the worry of a lawsuit(they still have to worry but they're charging more, making more and have those cost built into what they make. The primary care physicians don't) What will Obama do about lawsuits? These primary care physicians won't be able to afford the malpractice insurance they would need in order to cover what Obama wants them to do.

Maybe I'm rambling but I think that more can be done before we turn in over to the government.

I understand where you are coming from, but the govt already runs medicare medicaid.

The system needs to be changed.

If the right would post some ideas that would be great but they seem to have taken the be a dick plan.

Yelling at town halls and saying there will be death panels is just nonsense and is helping no one.

The only problem with getting a private group together to run it, is it will just lead to more corruption.

The dems are doing themselves no favors by how they are presenting this.

There is still alot of gray areas about what will be in the bill. I would imagine some sort of tort reform will be in it to help protect the primary care.

So why not look at changes that can be made first rather than going in and shoving this universal healthcare down our throats?

Here's an idea. For all of the people that don't have insurance, make them eligible for Medicaid no matter what their economic situation. After that, let's start looking at a way to get cost under control. Oboma has some good thoughts on things and he's pushing buttons but lets take our time and do it right.

I really do not think it is being shoved down our throats.

The dems and Obama need to be clearer about their plan and the repubs need to be open to some changes.

It would be nice to have these townhalls where people actually discuss what their issues and concerns are. We are getting nowhere with the yelling nonsense nonsense.

Obama has not been using the fear tactic with this and maybe thats the problem.

Its obvious that we are not an intelligent enough of a country to have a honest and frank discussion about health care. Instantly everything becomes a political issue.

Shoved down our throats is shit like the patriot act and the online gambling ban that was added at the last second to the port security bill.

At least with this potential bill Obama is out and about talking to people about it.

We are having a discussion about, albeit not a civil one.

Bush used fear and town halls with prescreened people with prescreened questions.

Shawn, that's not true. It was being shoved down our throats. O wanted it done before the break. Now that there's been a major backlash he's decided to get out and talk about it. He should have done that from the get go.

I'm sure glad Obama doesn't stage events and use a Teleprompter all the time, that man is genius.

Bush was too stupid to read so they had to just tell him what to say.

If you don't think this health care bill isn't being shoved down our throat, what do you call it, i'm sure that health care can be solved, but only when everything is on the table, and what makes everyone think that the usual suspects will stop using the emergency room for the common cold?
