nolan, decided to post this message for others to read rather than e it to you. i think you should reconsider your decision to ignore nfl sides. i read your column several times throughout the week and have looked forward to your takes on the weekly slate for some time now. basically, i think you should hang in there with the sides. we all have our slumps and when they happen one must adjust either the $ bet, number of games etc. This past sunday was a tough week to handicap, only one dd fav on the board w a bunch of games w less than a 6 chalk. I had a good day in college and thus tread lightly yesterday. It was one of those days when you look at picking the winner and hope they cover the number. with the large number of low spreads most of the winners did cover as favs went 11-3. but as you point out picking winners has been tough period with the dogs barking loudly for several weeks and a ton of .500 teams ou there. i have been using a system that you mentioned in your column a few weeks back involving the home dog tease and it has been extremely profitable for me and has allowed me to wager somewhat confidently when i cant find a solid side. yesterday i made two plays both home dog teasers. chic+9/cle+9 and det+11/sea+12 and both came in. granted neither seattle or det needed the points but chi/cle was a teaser where both sides needed the points and that one felt really good. this system has worked well in college to. i mention this only because you noted the good % on this system but did not jump on it this week rather choosing to wheel kc on the road in 5 bets. pit has been very good to me this year and i know you have been on them too. when playing pit i always take the mindset that it is going to be a field goal game. they are the only team i always buy the ' when the line is around 3 give or take. a check of their schedule shows that 3 out of 8 games pit have been involved in were decided by three points...just a thought. in short you know how to handicap games and you make solid contributions to this site week in and week out there are approximately 120 nfl games to be played not including the playoffs and your input on wagering totals and SIDES is greatly appreciated. keep plugging away, keep working hard and the winners will start coming your way...good
luck.
