pay football sites? you are usually against them and i was wondering how you feel about "fletcher" using this site to promote his? i thought the idea of this site wa sto share all the info we have to beat "the man". thanks for your response!!!

this site IS about sharing information for free. fletcher isn't "using this site to promote his", he PAYS for it and he never mentions his site or posts his link in the forums. he bought a banner. i gave him the exclusive for advertising a pay service. i have turned down dozens of other services that would like to advertise here. i let fletcher because he is a friend, i know he is honest and he has given a lot of his time and help on this site for free and still does!
The guy pays money to have his banner here. It is not like he is husteling folks in the forums to come on board as others have done. Jesus leave the guy alone all ready.
Must be another tout. As far as Fletcher goes I have done very well following his FREE plays that he posts here.

I'm not sure why my opinion matters on this, because this is Jack's site and he makes the rules. If he decides to accept the banner for a pay service, that's his business. Jack is a businessman, and I encourage him to do whatever he can to make sure this site stays profitable. Otherwise, there would be no MadJackSports.Com.

I am philosophically opposed to pay services (tout services). I have written extensively on this subject and given my reasons. However, simply because I have a philosophical viewpoint does not preclude me from maintaining a relationship with (and even being a supporter of) certain individuals who have started fee-based handicapping services. To use two examples, I totally trust in the integrity of Fletcher and know his will do everything he can to produce winners for his clients. KC Wolf is another person I would trust with my life. These handicappers have decided to do the research on games and try to capitalize on those good instincts by selling plays. Again, that approach is not for me, but I respect their right to do as they please and also the right of readers and others to buy those plays if they want to. I also think these handicappers (there are others too, but I'm just using Fletcher and the Wolf as examples) should be commmended for continuing to come here to the site and post their opinions and analysis. I don't recall ever seeing either of them beating their chest about wins (and Fletcher hit something like 30 straight baseball plays!) so each has handled himself professionally.
I guess this brings me to the best aswer I can give -- which is to do your own thing. Do whatever works for you. We can also agree to disagree on certain points. I'm confortable with my stance on this issue, but also respect others who may disagree and want to go with a fee-based service.

I've only been hanging around MJ's place a couple of years but fletcher has always posted quality free picks. I agree with Nolan's analysis of pay services as well, some people just feel comfortable paying someone for advice and as long as the service is honest (like fletcher) then it's just a contract between those people.
One thing I have noticed is how many people badger fletcher for more information when he posts his picks - they want to know which is his favorite pick, yada, yada, why do you like this one, yada, yada, ad nauseum. Then, invariably, if fletcher hits a bump, like everyone does eventually, those same people will burn him but good (as apparently they have done recently with Nolan).
I have a suggestion for the new people around here and this is something that I tried to do when I arrived. Spend a couple of months keeping your mouth shut unless you have something positive to add to the conversation. Read and listen. And spend more time reading the columns about money management than you do reading the stats because in the long run money management is the only thing that will keep you from getting killed in this business.
Just my two cents worth. Thanks to both Nolan and fletcher, you guys have helped me tremendously as well as TTM$, hoops, TV, hell I could go on forever. I apologize to all the other great posters around here for not mentioning you as well.

this is my first time posting.must admit all i have done is to absorb all the free info offered on this site.i am also a client of raymond's,fletcher's and kcwolf's.i also follow the picks of several of the cappers' posting daily.thank you jack for this site.please do not change anything.i have really been having fun getting paid each week.i hope to be offering some decent picks when acc basketball begins.
