Thats funny but I'm sure not to you.Stranded.John Roberts or Classic will be glad to sell you a new one if you bring your ass back to Dallas. And you said last year you keep a low profile and drive an old van.
Btw Southwest sells tickets from Love Field to LV for 100 bucks if one books ahead.Tried that drive once, and didn't think I was ever going to get out of New Mexico.Last time I drove.
Drove beemers for a while and they are fun to drive.Sold after a repairman told me to buy something else.
BTW,congratulations on your NFL preseason, hard to keep a good man down.

***I remember the John Roberts dealership well. Soounds like you are in the business.

And you said last year you keep a low profile and drive an old van.

***I do. Wife kept the van (94 Chevy Lumina) back in Washington. She would have been really pissed at me if I left her without wheels.

Btw Southwest sells tickets from Love Field to LV for 100 bucks if one books ahead.Tried that drive once, and didn't think I was ever going to get out of New Mexico.Last time I drove.

***The first half of that drive is a ballbuster -- flat, boring ass Texas panhandle until you hit the Rockies in New Mexico. Then, you hit the West Mesa and towards Arizona. I broke down near Tuccumcari one time. I had a Volvo then, and a generator wire came lose. Left me stranded. What a bitch that was. Still, this is WORSE.

Drove beemers for a while and they are fun to drive.Sold after a repairman told me to buy something else.

***Most expensive cars I've owned always gave me the most trouble. Once had a '84 Mercedes that cost so much in repairs it nearly made me have to go out and get a job. It was like $150 for the dealership to even crack open the hood. As for inexpensive cars -- I owned a couple of Peugeots (no longer imported into USA) that I never paid more the $5K for and they drove like tanks. Also had a ten year old Saab that never gave me any trouble. But as for BMWs and Mercedes -- I'll never buy another one. Never.

BTW,congratulations on your NFL preseason, hard to keep a good man down.

***I'm sitting here watching the TCU-Cincy game on ESPN (thank God the hotel has cable). Wish I would have read the MadJacks Forum so I could have got down on TCU. Thanks for the kind words.

I have a good friend with an '88 Saab - more than 300,000 miles on it. He keeps it serviced as it should be and has had only minor problems.

Sorry to hear about your car troubles. Maybe you need the rest out there in no where land.

Instead of using that yahoo garage mechanic, to me it makes much more sense to have the car towed to the nearest large town with a BMW dealership. There is nothing to say the fuel pump and filter is whats wrong with it. Next he may look up at you with his no teeth and say.....oopsy. Guess it needs a new engine. want me to order one ?

Just my two sense.

Let me know if you need a ride. I can be there in about four days if I keep it around 87 mph.

Nolan,

Anything you need with yoru BMW let me know. Right now I have them pretty much bent over the table (for lack of a better term) as far as services and repairs go. Depending on how new it is you should have your roadside assistance clause on the warranty. According to the terms of it, for a failure of the car on their part you should be pretty well accomadated. If not, let me know and when I talk to their HQ later tonite I can pass on some of the troubles you are experiencing with them as well. Friday morning I had the owner of the Dealership out here offering to hand wax my car himself! to help make up for some of my troubles with them and keep my mouth shut to the rest of the public.

:)
