Texas A & M???

Texas A & M???

I know Northcoast has been hot so far this year, but Texas A & M as the underdog play of the week??? I totally disagree with that as Va Tech should hammer the Aggies in my opinion.

aggies POW doesnt surprise me

aggies POW doesnt surprise me

steele had A&M #11 beginning of year, Tech #25

now he gets a FG @ Kyle, he has to back this ....

I just pray hes wrong ...

line dropped today, was it b/c steeles underdog play has been unusually strong in the past? (LW Nittanies) and is 44-24 ATS in last 6 years

Tennesse wins by a touchdown plus...Kelly Washington back and defense is as good as Miami's ....
Virginia Tech wins by a touchdown plus...the under maybe a good play..........
Like these this week:
N.C State...to win S/u
Indiana to cover...DiNardo is underestimated and he is hell from previous coaching records at home..
Alabama..-7...steam brought this line down from 9'.a little worrisome..but S.Miss looked terrible against E. Carolina
Illinois -24...UTEP 4th straight away game..gotta get tired of this sometime and dues must be paid..regardless of their score record this season
Eating some chaulk this week...Ohio State has such a poor record of covering...
Do you have any input? dk

A$M is 28-0 non-conference at Kyle Field under Slocumb.
the defense is solid and their HFA is amazing.

i think VTech rips A$M too.....but something about the low
line just doesn't seem right...

Aggies are very tough at Kyle field. Their defense is no Marshall either...VTwill have a tough time running the ball.

Aggies offense is pathetic, but I think they find a way to win. Has anyone seen an OU line yet? I'll take the under, whatever it is.

I think Texas A#M will beat the Hokies outright. Hokies will still be going with a experienced QB and between the hostile crowd and the Aggies defense I wouldnt be surprised if he struggled. I look for a low scoring game that A#M will win by 3.

I agree with the play on A+M here, this game smells just like the Tennessee Dallas game did to me. A+M is a rock solid team, great defensive game plans to shut down the run and a great HFA.

You guys are leaving out one important detail: the aggies have to score. I can see the VaTech running game wearing down the a&m defense late in the game and working with a short field.

VaTech 24 a&m 13

I will have a write-up on this game by the end of the day, so check out my site later on.

Remember last week Marshalls QB threw for over 400 yrds vs V Th. But V Th beat there brains in rushing the ball. So im not sure if V Th, QB will feal much heat. But on the other hand V Th def's is not that strong.

tx a+m has a poor kicking game

tx a+m has a poor kicking game

if this is close(and if a+m wins,it will be),i think a+m is at a disadvantage....1-5 on field goal attempts this year...could be big...

He has been good with this play, but he's doctoring his record. He didn't count several losses that occurred ebfore September 11 last year.

mw, you are so right -- I have been a long-time Power Sweep subscriber, and this is something Steele has taken to doing the last few years.

while I think his info is good, he has increasingly started going down the road of scamdicapper in that he uses lines no one gets and just hypes and hypes and hypes his picks and 900 lines, something he didn't do even a few years ago.

as an example, he'll quote an Underdog POW at, let's say, +10, which may have been the initial opening line, but quickly moved from that to, say, 7.

by Saturday, it's at +5, and the POW loses by, say, 8.

he'll call it a win, even though nobody got a line at which the pick won.

he does that garbage with his other newsletter picks and late phones, as well.

in the end, he doesn't need to do that, but I sense he has become insecure because his late phones, especially, have been break even, at best, over the last few years, and that is where he really makes his dough.

if he doesn't win big, who's going to pay for it?

Why pay for them when they're to be found for free ? See my thread in general discussion(Tout discussion).

Would have to agree with Monk here. Both defenses are stellar. I'd give the Special teams edge to VT. And as for the A&M offense, I'm not so sure that they'd score with a naked lady spread eagle just begging for some lovin. Hokies will wear them down, dont see the faggies wearing down the hokies.

I agree that A&M is tough at home but they only scored 14 points against Pitt. I have to go with the hokies but the line seems low.

a&m's D

a&m's D

what I am wondering about is what someone mentioned above. if any of you saw the A&M pitt game and also watched va. tech against ark st., lsu, and marshall last thurs you know suggs and jones will pound the ball up the middle all day long. when a&m played pitt they got backdoored A. b/c those they couldn't kick a filed goal fromt the 25 so they went for it on 4th & 1 and got stuffed and B. b/c their D was out on the field way too long against pitt in the second half. granted, pitt's qb got his head out and started making some big time plays (i have always thought sammy d was a little overhyped, and yes i thought q jammer was last year as well), but they got worn out. it wasn't against the run and i have never played a defensive down of football in my life so I don't know what takes it out of you more, but stopping that run 20-30 times in the second half will not be fun. also, if a&m continues to struggle to get 1st & 10 then the d will be out there more, causing more problems, wearing them out more, etc.

i won't play this game simply b/c it is kyle field and i have seen stranger things happen there way too many times. i think i will hit the under and hope that a&m's qbs continue to struggle, and that the WC can stop jones and suggs for about 2/3's of the game. mix this in with a&m struggling with fg's and i think under 39-40 should be solid.

thoughts??

I think the line reflects that VTech is the better team but I believe this is their first road game and they are going to a tough place to play which may account for the line being a little low. I would take A&M but their lack a special teams (ie field goals) could hurt them and keep VTech in the game where the run game may wear down A&M defense by 4th quarter. With no offense, A&M can't rally late if needed which will probably give Vtech great field position late and put it away. :D
