At what age did you really begin to think that your parents weren't gonna be around forever? I'm 30 and starting to think about that, its weird to think about , b/c when you're younger, you think life is endless..the phrase "life is short" is finally starting to make sense
Losing my Dad a few days before my 30th birthday was the toughest thing I have ever gone through. I still miss him to this day...and it's been over 4 years now.
you made it to your 30`s and still have them both around....mkae sure you let them know how much you love and appreciate them....
time goes faster as we get older....and it doesn`t get easier....
just keep it in perspective if you can...none of us are getting out of this alive...

It really is amazing how fast life just passes by as you get older. I often think about what i am losing by not having my Dad still around. he was the guy I played golf with all the time.....I play golf a lot less now. When I made this hole in one recently....I really did have to choke back tears.....because the one person I wanted to talk to about it.....I couldnt.
I used to meet my Dad at the track every day in August for the 5th race. We argued about picks and race results but we bonded. Lost him 12 years ago and I've only been to the track about 10 times since just not the same.

My dad left when I was 11 and I never saw him or heard from him again. You guys are fortunate to have had a "real" father in your lives.... That was 41 yrs ago and still hurts.
Mom on the other hand is 78 and I speak with her about 4 times a week and try to see her once a month as she lives 300 miles away. This past year I have caught myself saving voice messages from Mom as I wonder if that would be the last message I ever received. She has been a constant in my life and is gonna hurt severely when she passes one day.
I am flying my kids in to drive up to Mom's a week before thanksgiving...I work in retail.... to celebrate thanksgiving. My kids are 30,23 and 21. Mom is so excited as my kids are from Kansas city to New Orleans. I thought about this topic when I planned this get together for Mom as you just never know how much precious time you have left with loved ones.
Good topic, and as a parent getting older....We appreciate the phone calls and visits, I assure you of that:0008
Nice Bro.

Thanks Nole, Wife and I will probably be making a trip this spring around your area. I would like to get together and play a round of golf. Magic stuff, hole in ones and all.....
