Not So Scary Halloween Prop Play
For props I like to take a strength against a weakness. Dallas on offense is 11th in passing and 2nd in running. Minnesota on defense is 10th passing and 32nd rushing.
Flip side Minnesota?s offense is 12th passing and 13th rushing. Dallas on defense 11th passing and 13th rushing.
So, starting with Dallas running against Minnesota rush defense would make sense. With Dak a question mark I think it becomes less obvious. Maybe a Dallas rushing attempts would be worth looking at because they would try to run with a back-up QB in the game. If Dak doesn?t play Minnesota should stack the box and try to force the back-up to beat them.
I watch all the Vikings games and they are best when they have a balance of running and passing. That happens the best for them when Dalvin Cook plays. He is just so explosive it forces the defense to try to stop the run. When the defense tries to stop the run, it opens up the play action pass and naked bootlegs. This is when the Minnesota offense looks the best.
For me tonight the selection isn?t scary on Halloween night. How can you not root for an undrafted wide receiver that has made himself into an all-pro? I am going with Adam Thielen tonight and will have my Thielen jersey on. Dallas defensive passing stats are average in terms of passing yards, but they give up 20th most completions in the league which only helps me.
Thielen has the following stats in terms of targets and completions so far this year 10/9, 7/6, 9/6, 8/3, 3/2 and 13/11
I have 4.5 -165 or 5 -120 as my lines. I think he gets at least 6 receptions. He would be 4-2 playing over either line on the season. He is having his second-best year catching passes at 74% of the targets. There is something else that leads me to this pick. That is Delvin Cook. He has played in games 1, 2, half of game 4 and game 6. In the 3 full games Cook was a threat Adam had great games: 36 receptions and 4 TD?s. I am going with Adam Thielen Over 4.5 receptions and also a fun bet that he scores first TD +850
