I don't think I made myself clear when I said that Las Vegas is the best handicapper in the business.
IMO, Las Vegas puts out an opening line that will merely make us think twice about who we're gonna' put our hard earned money on.
I didn't mean to imply that they can handicap every game on the card to within 3 points of the number.
Sometimes they're on the mark, other times they miss the mark by a wide margin.
But whenever that opening line appears, it is at that number for a very specific reason.
They've been at this business way too long to just throw out an arbitrary number.
Granted, they do make (what appear to be) mistakes.
It's up to us to find them.
100 % of the time, finding the mistake requires "due diligence" on my part.
Can the House be beat? I say "yes".
Is it easy? For me, it's not.
I simply respect Las Vegas for what they are capable of doing. It keeps me from thinking that they're a pushover and makes me think long and hard before I put my money at risk.
