Was driving back from Madisonville today and a thought struck me bout last weeks tourney. What a perfect tourney to gage players ability in the wind. Four days of exact weather 5 to 7 mph throughout start to finish and 17 to 25 mph from start to finish last day. Thus giving all same play on Pga with wind and without.
Just got done going through entire card and if anybody wants it I will scan results entire field that made cut and post it here or if you want just the extremes will post that. It is amazing the few earmarked prior as wind dogs fell true to form. I somewhat adjusted final rd score allowing no more than double on any hole as there were trips and quads that I believe would taint results.
One quirk I found odd but not related is 5 of top 6 (all but Herron)Played the same courses each day????

Yes please DTB

Also be interested in a scoring ave of players who played in rd 5 last week in this week's event v players who did not play in Rd 5....does that make sense!!??

What I want to know is the effect of the wind on their swings the following week?? In other words, is it a good policy to avoid players who have played in high winds when they turn out the following week...everybody assumes it does, which means it will only be possible to profit if it does not, if you see what I mean! Betting against the crowd as it were...

 It just a habit Stan. I like it when it is peaceful and quite.
I can get much more done from 4am to 8 am than I could from 8am to 4pm--plus it leaves afternoons free for more important things, like golf;)

Debated on how to display this an opted for final scoreboard which will make things more evident.Otherwise there would be players such as Haas who shot great final rd of 69 in wind get mis project as it was 8 shots off his 61 there in no wind.
The round circled is prior rd at pga and #s written is strokes I have subtracted off triples and quads reducing them to double bogie.
Players that fell into line with stats charted past 2 years were
good wind
Mick
Verplank
Lickliter
Sluman
Hart
Bad wind players
Huston
Cook
Funk
Couples
Daly (despite winning British open)
One that was skewed was K Perry who I had rated B+ in wind but faltered.
New guys I have put on alert to watch in future
Pampling 8 strokes diff
Crane 10 strokes
Micheel 9 strokes
Brehaut 11 strokes
Moore 9 strokes

Shit I scanned to email to myself but it won't let me cut and paste?
Any answers how to do it or else I'll email them to ya.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I'll cut an paste leaderboaord # after their total score is the rd they played on PGA course with no wind.

Spangster you rascal, what brings an elite hoopster as yourself down here big boy:)

You know Clive something that as always stuck with me concerning your thoughts on carry over of wind.
The wind always blows hard here at Hartland course where Spike played Hooter events and one day when wind was blowing bout 30mph we hit hit the 6th hole which was 1st to play into wind and he said "By the time I reach back nine I'll be cooked."--and he did spit the bit. I asked him later bout it and he said as hard as he tried he could not curb the urge to swing harder with woods inparticular into a strong wind and it through him out of sinc for rest of day.
Might explain his 10 shot swing here!
---and another thing I witnessed that day I've only seen happen once is with the wind to his back,Craig Perks who was paired with Spike carried a dry lake hazard (about 330 carry) on par 5 and was inside 100 yd marker on drive.

I remember a discussion during the TV coverage of the Mercedes a year or two ago which basically concluded that players didn't like to play two weeks in Hawaii as the winds would cause havoc with their swings.

There was just one day of wind in two events, so there was not much effect this year, but I'm sure in future it would be worth opposing players coming off a week in high winds.

Maybe we could call it an Elliott Law of the Trade Winds ;)
