Its really hard to tell because the computers absolutely hate Notre lame. I don't even understand why. The computers think that Notre lame is the 22nd ranked team in the country. Which would make West Virginia at 13 better? Not so fast, huh?

How many teams with 2 losses will be in BCS bowl games? If ND is a 2 loss team at the end of the year and with their schedule, I hope the human polls rank them high enough to be in a BCS bowl game. They deserve it!

Doesn't matter they are favored by the media and the bowl committee loves the fact that the fans are great travlers just like OSU. I am telling you ND vs OSU in a BCS.

Not saying it isnt possible but a #14 BCS ranking and a combined record of 12-17 left on the schedule, doesnt look too good in the computers eyes. They may get to #12 and have 9 wins, but that doesnt mean they automatically go. Just means they are eligible.

They dont automatically go anywhere. They could go anywhere the Little East goes. But if they win out and dont go BCS, probably the gator, because all the Little east sucks, and the gator is reserved for the Little east second best.

If they win out, they go to a BCS bowl. Period. Any bowl will take ND with their fan base and prestige over whatever teams are left in the field. Why do I say this? These bowls have proven to us since the BCS began that money, matchups, and fans do the talking.
And lets face it, the media loves them, which will keep their poll rankings high enough to outweigh the computers after 4 more games.
You can say whatever you want about their remaining schedule, they OUTPLAYED the best team in the country and everybody saw it on national tv. They had a bad loss to MSU but still looked impressive in defeat, coming back late in a game. So to recap, they outplayed one of the best college football teams EVER, lost in OT, and have pretty much led EVERY QUARTER OF EVERY GAME before and after that.
Thats why Texas went to the Rose bowl last year and Cal got snubbed to the Holiday bowl
Thats why ND went to the fiesta bowl in 2000-01 and got CRUSHED. They were 12 in the BCS that year, way overrated, but a lock to go to a BCS game.
In 2003-04, ND would have gone to another BCS bowl, as a way overrated team, had they not lost to USC in the last game of the season

This is easy. To be eligible for a BCS game they have to have 9 wins and be Top 12 in BCS rankings. If they win out they will accomplish both. if they dont win out they wont.

If they are eligible they will certainly be picked. If Texas is in title game Fiesta will get first choice and take ND. If it is VT v USc Orange will get first choice and take ND. Alabama, Sugar, ditto.

ND's remaining schedule is such that thye probably win out but aloss wouldnt shock me. I figure they end up in the Fiesta Bowl and probably play the Big 11 winner.

so if WVU wins the big east and N. Dame is selected as an at large, do both teams get a BCS bid, or just one?

Both.

Big East and ND share the lower tier bowls only. Gator and Insight

WIlson you are right and wrong.

Under the Rules the conference has to achieve a certain ranking as well as its teams averaged out over time. If the Big East doesnt have a big time team next year they are in serious danger of losing their spot in the BCS.
