Any value in Notre Dame to win the NIT?
They are w/o a doubt an NCAA tourney team playing in the NIT. Its a tough call for the committee when players are injured...whether they get in or not and where to seed them, etc.
For example, if a team with no depth goes unbeaten playing in the best conference and then their starting 5 end up in the hospital...they deserve a 1-seed but it also messes up the tournament if a 16-seed gets an easy first game...so what do you do? Its also not fair to make them play a tougher first opponent.
I felt like ND being on the bubble should have gotten in over a team like Syracuse or Oklahoma, esp when you factor in the injuries.
So all that said....you've got a very good ND team in a lesser tourney...if their attitude is right, they should end up in the "final 4"...does anyone see value in picking them? Or not really?
And of course I'm "Touchdown Jesus" but I'm also a much bigger UNC fan and liked ND basketball a lot more back when Digger was there lol
