Nova +1 over Texas ***
Tough game to capp. But thought Nova should be the favorite by 1 or 2 . Texas just won the MAUI tourney 100 miles from the nearest beach. But they just destroyed Indiana and won on a last second shot vs NC. They also beat Davidson and struggled but won. Texas is really a talent team with Ramy and Coleman at gds that can penetrate and handle the ball. Kia Jones the 6'11 soph has improved big time and is a force. they have a lot of depth inside and outside. Their really MVP is Cunningham a 6'6 kid who comes off the bench and is a coaches dream. Does everything good but nothing great. Simms,Heppa,and 5 star frosh Brown all have size. Brown could be a lottery pick. So much talent and only one basketball. But Shacka is not a good bench coach. This team still shoots 3's from anywhere. Not disciplined etc Think Shacka finally realizes this and maybe decides to try to coach better. He was saved by the C-19 this year because he was on his way out. Jones Texas's best 3 pt shooter was 4-18 from the 3 at Maui. At some point shacka needs to tell some shooters not to take the 3 and give the ball up.
Nova is Nova . Wright has a disciplined team with 4 starters back But he has the best pt gd in the country in Gillespie. Love watching him play. Robinson Earl and Moore are solid. Slater, Swider are solid . And super frosh Dixon . There defense is outstanding. Texas has the size and are more athletic. But think Texas heads are big after winning the tourney Nova has beaten BC and Zona St already. Texas is at home but only 25% capacity. Think Texas comes back to earth today in a close game but Gillespie has the ball with 10 seconds. I
will take the Wildcats .
