It is hard to believe it is Sunday and their has been no posts on the NRL Round 19 yet. As they say better late than never.
I think Anders is on holiday this weekend so in his honour I thought that it was worth having a shot at the Warriors game.
I am playing the Warriors +16.5 vs Brisbane
There are a few reasons why they will probably cover the spread here.
The major reason and one that seems to have been overlooked by everyone is that they are playing this game on the Gold Coast and not in Brisbane. There are heaps of New Zealanders living on the Gold Coast (myself included) and last time I saw the Warriors play here the crowd was 75% in their favour.
Earlier this year the Warriors beat Brisbane for the first time ever. They will go into todays game knowing that they can compete with them. Traditionally the Warriors do seem to lift against the top sides and with a possible Top 8 spot up for grabs they have plenty to play for.
I don't see that backing up from the Friday night test match will be an issue as both teams had a number of players involved.
If I do have one concern it is that Brisbane are coming off a 44-0 loss to Newcastle (the clubs biggest defeat ever) and a hungry Brisbane team are always daunting to face.
I think that the bookies are being very kind giving 16.5 points start to the Warriors here, and it is well worth a bet.
