Newcastle Knights $1.80 v Parramatta Eels $2.00 head-to-head (Knights -4.5 @ $2 line)
NZ Warriors +3.5 v St George Illawarra Dragons
Brisbane Broncos -11.5 v Wests Tigers
Bulldogs -3.5 v Northern Eagles
Nth Qld Cowboys $2 v Penrith Panthers $1.80 h-2-h (Cowboys +4.5 @ $2 line)
Melbourne Storm -5.5 v Sharks
Sydney Roosters -10.5 v Canberra Raiders
Some stats info:
Wouldn't take a stats whizz to realise the Road Dogs have been huge in the first three rounds of the comp so far. But I collated some stats last night to illustrate the fact.
Unfortunately, this being the first year I've done this with some seriousness, I have no idea what trends have been like in recent years and would love to track some down, but I don't know if any record exists Down Under on covers for NRL betting, trends etc. Ah well, in a few years at least I'll have one -might have to start my own site a la Stanley
Anyhow, here they are:
Home Faves - 5-11-1 SU; 5-12 ATS
Home Dogs - 0-4 SU; 1-3 ATS
Road Faves - 6-0 SU, 5-1 ATS
Road Dogs - 11-4-1 SU; 12-4 ATS
Home Cover - 5-16
Road Cover - 16-5 (obviously! :rolleyes
Also promised some details on over/under trends in relation to night/evening/day matches. Have termed games before 5.30pm day games, between 6-7pm evening and 7.30pm onwards night.
Over/Under 40.5 total points
Night: 6-4
Evening: 1-3
Day: 2-5
Collated these to check something I read re a Rd 2 game where players said the heat had them down to a standstill, and wondered whether that meant more tries (ie quick backs running around knackered forwards) or less points (total lethargy all round). Just a little experiment and nothing to hang your hat on but the results are interesting and maybe worth keeping in mind given the fact that it will still be plenty warm in Aus in March.
I'm off to Auckland tomorrow for the first 2 days to cover the NZ v Pakistan 1st cricket test but will endeavour to keep up-to-date.
Cheers
