Number of hits per website question?

This might be a stupid question, BUT I was wondering if there's any website out there where you can check the number of hits a certain website is getting per day or year? And their popularity?

Just curious, or is there no such site?

there are sites that try to judge the popularity of web sites and they might be close, but the ONLY way to know a site's true traffic is to look at the numbers gathered by the server.

when advertisers ask about the traffic here, i show them the stats collected by my hosting company and the stats collected by a 3rd party web analytics company or they don't even believe what i tell them because of all the bull$hit artists out here.
