Regardless of which side you had in the game last night, I'm curious what the rest of you guys think about Fassell's vision for this Giant's team. They look like warmed over Steelers at this point. Somehow I don't mind when the Steelers play this kind of ball, I expect it from Cowher, but when the Giants do it all I see is ugly. Does Fassell really expect to get back to the playoffs with all those 5 yard passes and the inability to score a touchdown? Perhaps their defense can carry them. Looks to me like I should just take whoever plays the Giants in a teaser with the under and you should be guaranteed some money. I don't see any way the Giants could blow anyone out with their anemic offense.

(BTW I had the Eagles last night so I'm not pissed about the outcome. It was just so UGLY.)

Until Fassel and Payton prove they can call some plays that actually get the team in the endzone that teaser idea might be the best bet. Especially the next few weeks when they play their other division rivals and will be large favorites. The coaching is definately to blame...they have too much talent on offense to be putting up less than 20 points a game.

they played a beautiful ball control game, where the 9 points should have been enough.

then, for some strange reason, they start trying to pass too much in the 4th qtr and you can't do that vs. philly. if they know you are coming they will kill you. they seemed not to have enough variety of running/pass plays to keep philly guessing. it was all too predictable in that 4th quarter.

these short off. drives put too much strain on the defense, and i for one, started to see the writing on the wall with around 9 minutes left. they did not consume any time on the clock and kept giving philly opportunity after opportunity. what happened next should have been no surprise to anyone.

as far as their offense, they do seem to have some success driving downfield, but lack either the talent or the off. b...s to seal their drives.

after a game like last night, it is hard to make a case for the giants to be legitimate superbowl contenders. barely winning in st louis, and now barely losing is just not good enough.
