Direct Action

Thursday March 27th -- Let's shut this city down! No more business as usual!

Every day now the lives of Iraqis are ending, and
our everyday lives must end as well.

WE MUST REVOLT AGAINST THIS WAR OF A PRESIDENT WE NEVER ELECTED.

The time for symbolic acts has ended. The war is on and we must take our resistance to another level.

Get your affinity groups together and plan for autonomous direct actions against the war in the streets of NYC at 7 am on Thursday, March 27th. We will be on the streets all day!

Disrupting the city is as simple as 123:

1) Pick your target -- any busy street or intersection will do.

2) Your affinity group takes the intersection until the cops come and then runs away to a new street or intersection.

3) Rinse. Repeat.
* This is just one idea. If your affinity group has a good idea, go and do it!
* Keep the details of your action confidential.
* Coordinate clusters of affinity groups to hit a target over and over throughout the day.
* Be creative, stay out of jail and on the move.
* We will support each other by having lots of groups doing lots of actions all day.

This day of action is not being called by any one organization. Get into small groups and organize actions!

What gets me is"Be creative, stay out of jail and on the move".If they want to stay out of jail then stay off the damn streets.

Maybe we can send an affinity group of our 8 anti-war people here at Madjacks.Cmon guys...quit sitting behind a computer badmouthing everything.Go sit in the streets and cause trouble with your antiwar friends.

NO BUSINESS AS USUAL - MASSIVE ANTI-WAR CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE ON 3/27

An ad-hoc coalition of anti-war groups is planning a massive non-violent civil disobedience at 8 am on Thursday, March 27, 2003.

We target corporate war profiteers and the media/corporate/government collusion that is promoting this war. We target the Rockefeller Center area since many media and corporations have offices there or nearby. We target the corporate structure that is profiting from this war.

Every day now the lives of Iraqis are ending, and our everyday lives must end as well. We cannot routinely go to work and school, come home, turn on the government-manipulated media and watch the Iraqi skies light up with bombs while we eat dinner. We cannot stand by as our government slaughters thousands of Iraqi civilians. We cannot continue to watch passively the homeless, hungry and sick on the streets of New York City while billions of dollars are being spent on bombs. No business as usual!

The plan is for a massive civil disobedience at Rockefeller Center, with coordinated actions planned by affinity groups throughout the city. Spread the word as widely as possible. The action will take place near 5th Avenue and 50th Streets. There will also be space for a legal protest at the action.

A pre-action meeting is planned for Weds evening, 6pm, March 26, Washington Square United Methodist Church, 135 West 4th Street, (just east of 6th Ave., Village, NYC).

We need all photographers, lawyers, people with video cameras, media people, people who care to help! Spread this info to all your friends and family.

What about the pre-action meeting at a church. These idiots are planning on getting arrested and they are meeting at a church.

Also they need lawyers......LOL.........they need to get a life......

WE MUST REVOLT AGAINST THIS WAR OF A PRESIDENT WE NEVER ELECTED.

And I also must add, as much as I can't stand Bush and think he's a terrible president, the "never elected" argument is stupid. It was legal and it was legit. You can disagree with the system, but you can't disagree that it wasn't legit.

Most anti-war people simply don't want war and don't want innocent people to die. They don't want to disrupt people's lives. They aren't morons like these people that are using it as an excuse to feel important, which "civil disobedience" apparently does. These that get the media attention are simply a vocal minority.

And finally, just because someone is anti-war doesn't mean they don't support the troops. As I've stated before, my biggest reason for being against the war is that I don't want American troops to die.
