Starting to wonder how bad these two teams may want to win. They talked about some of there fans are still lost in the destruction They get letters from 10 year old kids saying we need a win to have something to feel good about. One letter this week had the NYG players in tears. Now this can be big distaction. Or they may come out smoking what say some you guys. Maybe these are watch games with no action on them. I have a hunch there comeing to play.

denver
you are probably right on the money.i watched the kc/oak game and oak clearly was hit by the "new ref syndrome".i wasnt overly impressed with k.c.

i also thought the giants looked pretty good under the circumstamces in denver last monday.i expect the giant defense to be tuned in bigtime this week.

i really dont have a gut feeling on the jet game but on a side note..

chances are come sunday afternoon we will be engaged in or starting some type of response to what happened last tuesday.i expect what we saw in the cards game monday night in every nfl stadium and emotions will be high.

i dont know but im sure there are key players on any given nfl squad either off or def that have a direct personal affect by what happened.therefor if we dont know that its hard to tell which players may look up at the plane overhead etc or be off in their own world currently due to this.

its a pretty deep situation if you really look at it.how bout the refs? do they want to get the game over and go home if we are at war?.aka if a ref has a son or daughter was missing etc.

i dont know the answer but the intangibles just shot through the roof betting on anything for awhile i think.

i was watchin bases reactions and didnt even think of the football till you mentioned it.very good point dvj. may have to highly consider a giants play..

this is unprecedented as far as handicapping for us AND the books so lets stay ahead of em..later.

Arrowhead
djv , While I am a DEVOTED CHIEFS fan , my opinion may be slighted a bit . That being said I have a few ideas on the game I'd like to share : FIRST : T.Green didn't play much at all in the pre-season , that was evident on opening day when the timing with his recievers was obviously off. The exciting part of that is he will only get better . Thinking about what has been said in this forum about judging this weeks games by what a team did last week is tantamount to failure. SECOND : Isn't the giant secondary quite banged up ? I know Sehorn is coming back , but surely he won't be 100% . Therefore perhaps some will be surprised IF Green has a good day ? THIRD : Take my word for it , THESE FANS ARE RAPID !!! Having seen our counterparts play down the road in st. louis I now truely realize what a difference "some" home crowds can do for a team. FOURTH : In a trend that HAS to admitted as having some true weight , ARROWHEAD is a VERY tough place for ANY visitors to come in and win. Example , last week with Oakland , we both know thay are a superior team this year and that game came down to the late fourth quarter. FIFTH: a personnel opinion here , but I thought the giants were tremendous overachievers last year. On the other side , the giants will in all probability shut down the ground game and with D.Alexander HIGHLY doubtful the giants will double T.GONZALEZ and make Snoop the rookie beat them . In closing , I'm not so much touting the Chiefs but trying to share some ideas that there is much more to this match-up then meets the eye. I can only hope you gain SOMETHING from this novice's write-up as I gain so much from this site I'm trying to start giving something back . Best of luck

The Outhouse to the Penthouse!
Seems to me that the distraction will be very tough to overcome.

"Needing" to win? I don't know about that. If anything, the events of the past couple of weeks have showed us (and them) how meaningless a ballgame is. Especially for the teams coming out of NY and Washington.

It's tough to win on the road in the NFL as it is without the added complications being added from beyond the game itself.

Quote: "They get letters from 10 year old kids saying we need a win to have something to feel good about."

Well, you could call it "motivation", but I suspect that it could be more of an an added "pressure".

Good Luck.

GT, here what your saying and that is good info. I know your fans. Been there twice some years back. Much like G Bay. There not just fans but they know what the games is about and get real laud. Im going to just watch this one myself. But much like you I like to put info up for others to think about.
JD, you are right I cannot judge that type of letter. Could help could make it tougher.

Well they both need those wins and got them.
Now we must watch out for next week. The let down could be coming. I would think for the G men more then the Jets. But in anycase a let down could be up next.
