I read an article in the Form this weekend about a dispute going on between the New York Racing Association and the unionized track maintenance workers.
I don't know how many people would be considered track maintenance workers, but I assume there would be quite a few required to maintain 3 tracks and 2 training tracks. However, NYRA is claiming that because of extra overtime, there were 18 "Track Maintenance Workers" that made over $100,000 last year. 18!!
I guess that explains some of the takeout rates.
