Brett Tomko, who is 7-14 with a 4.93 ERA, has again been removed from the San Francisco rotation.
He had a 4.40 ERA since he was returned to the rotation last month. The Giants in all basis are giving up on the season and taking a look at young Matt Cain, but this has to be quite a disappointment to Tomko, who is pitching for his next contract.

Cain, who was 10-5 with a 4.39 ERA, 118 H and 176/73 K/BB in 145 2/3 IP for Fresno, will replace Brett Tomko in the rotation and start Monday against the Rockies.
