MY EARLY THOUGHT, OAK WINS EASY. JETS WILL NOT TRAVEL WEST FOR 2 STRAIGHT WEEKS, GO TO OAK, AND WIN. VINNY LOOKED BAD LAST WEEK, AND THE RAIDERS WILL BE READY. GRUDEN, WAS PISSED ? HE WILL HAVE THEM READY. LEADERS LIKE, GANNON, RICE BROWN, WILL HELP THIS TEAM FOCUS. TALENT EDGE TO RAIDERS, ROOKIE COACH FOR JET, HOME FIELD TO RAIDERS, I SMELL EASY VICTORY!
27-9 OAKLAND;) ;)

i agree-- i can't see very many teams going into oakland and beating them 2 weeks in a row--but what is wrong with oakland lately--had not seen that intensity or roughness especailly with big games on the line the last two weeks--fall apart near the goal line-gannon seems to forgot how to throw the deep ball--defense has made big msitakes-do the jets have their number?

Fawk the Jets

Fawk the Jets

I agree....Oakland will be ready. The Jets went back to New York...and now they have to come all the way back to the west coast. Oakland better stop the running game..

JETS DONT HAVE OAK NUMBER, 1ST TIME THEY WON, THERE SINCE 1962. OAK, JUST LOST IT, ON THEIR OWN, OAK DIDN'T CAPITALIZE, KICKING GAME KILLED THEM.
JETS MUST COME OUT AND RUN THE BALL, OAK KNOWS THIS! JETS WONT WANT VINNY PASSING! OAK WILL KEY ON RUN AND FORCE VINNY'S HAND.
RAIDERS MEAN-WHILE, WILL COME OUT WITH A VERY BALANCED ATTACK, MIXING RUN WITH SHORT PASSING GAME THEY WILL PLAY BALL CONTROL OFF.
THE EDGE EASILY SHOULD FAVOR RAIDERS, BOTH WILL TRY TO PLAY LOW MISTAKE FREE BALL . RAIDERS JUST MORE BALANCED, PLUS HOME (CRAZIES) CROWD, WILL BE DIFFERENCE.
I ALSO THINK UNDER IS A SOLID BET. GOOD LUCK DAN!

The thing that stands out most to me in this game is the fact that the Jets, who have lived off of the turnover all year, lost the battle 3 to 0, had more penalties, were held to less than 100 yards rushing, and ran 23 less plays than the Raiders and still won the game.

The Raiders have been in a close to must win situations for home field the past 3 weeks and have not answered the bell. The Jets corners took away Brown and Rice and forced Gannon into the dump off. Have to think that the +4.5 is the play.

After checking season records and opponents:
Oak. Opps. records= 92 wins 100 losses
N.Y. Opps. records= 100 wins 92 losses
Three teams from Jets div. make the playoffs.
Oak only team from their div.
This game should be pick-em in my opinion.

But just an opinion.

Fellows Bobby Blue Chip pretty much summed up this game in 3 sentences.

Jets will beat the Raiders in the rematch without a doubt.

Jets are 7-1 on the road this year, and have played focussed football on the road.

Raiders have scored 20 points only once in their last 4 games. Charlie Garner has a foot infection, and is a game time decision, paving the way for the much maligned Tyrone Wheatley to play.

Raiders recievers Rice and Brown were held to 9 catches for 115 yards last week. Glenn who covered Brown, and Coleman covered Rice ( deflected 2 passes away). The league has figured out the Raiders ----------- passing attack. They have no team speed, and with Gannon's lack of a deep arm cannot attack the field vertically. This has led to team's shooting the SLANT routes that the Raiders love to run. Gannon is holding on to the ball too long, because his slants aren't there and taking sacks.

These Jets believe they can beat anyone in the AFC, Raiders on the other hand lost to Tennesse, Arizona, barely beat Sandiego, recently. Their problems are problems that can't be fixed in 1 week, it will have to be addressed in the offseason, by drafting younger receivers and more playmakers.
Jets receivers are peeking, COLES had 5 catches, 111 yards and a TD, Santana Moss can make a big special team play for the JETS.
Raiders a a SOFT favorite and aren't worthy of a -4 favorite. Gruden't lost control of the team, Janikowski told him to F off, he had a fight with Gannon.
JEts will win this game, and don't try and name your score with the Raiders, because they will not be able to turn on the PLAYOFF FOOTBALL SWITCH AND DOMINATE.

Its amazing a team can get outgained AND lose the turnover battle 3-0 and still win the game. How? Special teams made the difference. Its a tough area to quantify but you have to give the edge to the Jets there. And with the line up to 5, with the dog you still get the biggest prime number (3) and one of the other biggest prime numbers (4).
