It is about 33 degrees on the morning of the Southwest Stakes, with the high this afternoon to hit 38 degrees. After freezing temperatures overnight, there was no training this morning at Oaklawn.
Stewards said late this morning that there were no current scratches out of the Southwest, which is the first of two major preps for the Grade 1, $1 million Arkansas Derby.
Although it is 33 degrees out, it feels like 24 degrees, according to weather.com. The Southwest goes at 5:02 p.m. Central.
