Oaks - 7 (D.O.A)/10 (A. G)/12(S. H)
Derby - 7 (S.S)/14 (S.D)/18 (A.G.S)
Top picks:
Oaks - Sealy Hill. I think she could run the race of her life with this being her 2nd off a layoff and first time stretching out. She appears to have plenty of speed to stay close, it will come down to whether or not she has the stamina to finish. Also note that the place horse in her last race came back to win her next outing. I could be reaching but she ran a mile just as fast as Rags to Riches. I'm looking for 20 to 30-1 on Friday.
Derby - Street Sense. I can see him pulling a Barbaro down the stretch. If he can get tucked in on the rail behind the first flight he will be hard to dany. More to come on the Derby and Derby undercard Friday night.
Side note - For all of you with DVR or Coke habits, ESPN has been airing Run to the Roses at 4 am EST. They are showing replays of old Derbies from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. It's a good way to get in the right frame of mind (not that we need any help at this time of year).
