Saw him pitch in Shea his first year with the Mets. Seem to remember Rusty Staub hitting homer.
Have not forgotten about the airplanes overhead and the wide cap bottles of Rheingold beer.

One of the best, that long reach of his kick leg on delivery, his knee was always stained brown from hitting the mound. Damn, getting old.

I remember him pitching a no hitter vs the Cubs one night We were at the Huddle a bar in Tarrytown NY The bar was packed and the last 4 innings the people were going nuts Think in the late 8th or 9th inning Jimmy Qualls gets a hit off Seaver.
What a great pitcher .. not a Met fan but whenever he pitched except against the Phiilies I was a Met fan RIP
