I wonder if I can get odds on Schumer's vote against Alito? Despite this man having as good of qualifications as one can have, he has no chance of receiving Schumer's vote.

Of course Schumer would say he is giving him a fair shot. Any leftist care to take him on his word? I will give you 3:1 odds!!!

Why do these votes have to be unanimous for you to be happy?

Just as the Neocons sometimes have to keep the bible thumpers happy, a democrat has to keep some of the way left liberals happy.

New york like it or not is way left.. way pro choice. He needs to represent that with his vote.

Anyway happy new year freeze

1. Because he is acting like he is giving him a fair shot.

2. Because he keeps telling him he has to answer specific questions after telling Ginsburg she didnt have to

3. Because he is all about grandstanding and politics and not about giving this guy a fair deal.

Hey if he wants to say that he will only vote for a liberal, and that is what his role is as a Senator, why not come across as straight up rather than this other hypocritical nonsense and defamation. :cursin: :cursin: :cursin:

If you believe him, leftists, than the proposition should be a good one for you!!!

Alito has done a great job of neutralizing Schumer, Kennedy, Biden and the like. I've watched the majority of the hearings the last few days and he might have handled this even better than Roberts.

He's actually getting less pointed or antagonistic questions than Roberts (which is surprising since he's O' Connors replacement) and he's doing just fine.

The Dems are MUCH more focused, or concerned about the issue of executive power than abortion, which is also sort of surprising. I agree that that issue is more important, but i'm surprised that they have made this the centerpoint of most of their questions.

He should be fine, and if the dems choose to filibuster, it will backfire bigtime.

Roberts and Alito had to sit there and listen to hour after hour of condescending rambling/ranting/grandstanding/lecturing from these pukes while their IQ's were way above any one of the 100 senators

A show for Senators is all it is. They should go back to the old way and drop these stupid hearings. Reb's are scared to ask tough questions. Dems ask dumb ones. They both suck.

Nationwide Petition Drive

Early last month, the pro-choice group NARAL sent an e-mail to supporters asking for 500,000 signatures to convince senators that Judge Alito is "Wrong for Our Country." So how did they do? In their latest e-mail, NARAL thanks its volunteers and members for garnering 2,000 signatures in its "Oppose Alito" petition drive leaving the group just 498,000 signatures short of its goal.

Dam so many story tellers and half truths from all. We deserve better form them all. Including the new judge want-a-bee. Easy to see why Edwards was top choice avaliable.
