Thought this interesting--

PGA Tour has some quirky numbers

The PGA Tour has a statistical analysis program called the Shotlink laser-scoring system that measures virtually every shot a PGA Tour pro hits during PGA Tour events.

It's where you might find fact a bit stranger than fiction.

? From 1996-2001 Tiger Woods never had a week on tour in which he missed more than 50 percent of the fairways. This year he had five.

? From 3 feet, tour players made 99.1 percent of their attempts. From 4 feet, it's 90.9. From 5 feet, it falls to 80.8 percent. From 6 feet, it's 69.8 percent.

? Nick Price, Craig Parry and John Cook did not miss a 3-foot putt all year, rolling in a combined 1,304 attempts.

? Brad Faxon went 362 holes in 2004 without an official three-putt.

? The average tour player got up and down 49.1 percent of the time from greenside bunkers in 2004. The average greenside bunker shot came to rest 9 feet, 10 inches from the flag.

? Cliff Kresge made 65.1 percent of his putts between 9 and 10 feet, tops on tour. Mark O'Meara made a tour-best 43.4 percent of his attempts from 10 to 15 feet.

? Player of the year Vijay Singh ranked No. 149 in fairways hit in regulation, with 60.4 percent. It was his third straight year of decline.

? Scott Hoch's approach shots between 75-100 yards finished an average of 13 feet, 8 inches from the hole, the best on tour. The tour average is an unspectacular 18-1.

and even more interesting if you do search on google for, shotlink golf stats, this is #1 link
http://www.tour-tips.com/PGA/shotlink.htm :)

Tiger ranked 62 in ball striking--47th in GIR--87th in total driving--yet never missed a cut

Daly on interview about success this year was that he went to fade to eliminate the left side, yet ranked #191 in eliminating left rough--wonder what his stats were prior??

Can anyone define going for green stat--looks to be significant----

Rank Player Going for the Green
1 Vijay Singh 64.7%
2 Darren Clarke 60.8%
3 Ernie Els 59.4%
4 Tiger Woods 59.0%
5 Retief Goosen 58.6%
6 Phil Mickelson 58.3%

and what diff is in putting ave and overall putting ave--

I looked for legend on how stats were determined but couldn't locate one.

--but do know if Joe Durant could putt he'd be a world beater :)

Was looking around betfair and noticed a top 4 option for Mercedes
and a few questions--
What do they do on ties?
Is this option available for LPGA weekly?
Is it available in running for all rounds?
Can U.S. resdents participate
Do they take Neteller?

Unfortunately, most of the answers are negative on this one

There is not enough liquidity on any events other than the very largest for Betfair's to run LPGA markets.
There is therefore no real opportunities here

DTB,
They do offer in-running but there is not much liquidity in those top 4 or 5 markets. You can place your win bet in the win market and lay it back later on if your player is in contension.

By much liquidity---a $20 wager should not have prob getting covered--you think?

Found a huge time saver in shotlinks that I have had to do manually, in a round about way previously, via 4th rd scor ave, that has been very rewarding on in running place wagers.
Note the final round performance stats which show % of time players improve on position in final rd.

I can't understand GG making England 4th betting choice in Womens World Golf Cup (8.5/1)???
Skybet has them a more realistic 2nd choice.
Stupples been playing well and despite Davies being erratic she has started strong last 2 years finishing 5th and 7thto start 04 and 13th and 11th in 03.

Would be curious of Clives thoughts as he follows em closely in off season.
