not asking for anyones opinion of whether or not they think its right. just looking for anyone who follows the polls closer than i do, if under any scenario its possible that either Ohio St. or USC play in the title game. I know Ohio St. has an outside chance, and USC might be really far fetched, but curious if its theoretically possible.

Thinking of buying some title futures at WSEX of Ohio St. at +809 and USC +4900. I can hedge before the game on either of these.....

just curious....definitely think there is value in Ohio St if things go okay tomorrow....and USC, well you never know...

are you serious

usc

they have little to no chance

and ohio state......heck all they need is one team to lose (wvu-ku-mizzu) in any of their 3 combined games and they are in the title game, where osu will get wacked again.

of course USC has little to no chance. That's why they are +4900. Shares cost two bucks. Just wondering if it was worth a flyer for $20 bucks. They will definitely be in the top 7 after Sunday if not a little higher. Was just asking for an opinion.

As for Ohio St., they don't play again so I'm assuming you think they have a shot, so at +809 there is extreme value becuase they won't be more than +250 whoever they play if they did make the title game.

so yes, I was serious. thanks for the response.

Here is my USC scenario:

-OU wins the Big XII
-UConn win the Big East

By my count that would assure Ohio State of playing for the strap as the last remaining one-loss team from a BCS conference. You'd then have to sift through OU, LSU, USC and possibly Oregon to choose the best two-loss team to play OSU. To me it seems pretty clear that USC would be the best two-loss team there but who knows what the pollsters would think.

If WVA wins tomorrow, USC's odds would, I assume, drop quite a bit. No idea how the voters would treat them if Nick's scenario worked out. On one hand, they lost to a BAD team in Stanford. On the other, it's been a wacky season and they are probably the best team in the country now that they're healthy. While I can't fathom any way that WVA doesn't blow UConn out of the water tomorrow, I'd be very tempted to get a few USC shares at that cheap of cost.

with LSU losing, if OU wins the big 12, then it's West Va vs. Ohio St. for the National Championship (assuming West Va. takes care of UConn). Otherwise , it's West Va. vs. Big 12 champ (Mizzou or Kansas).

i don't see any scenario where USC sneaks in...

The Rose Bowl would be a great way to end the season. We still need a Oregon loss to and beat UCLA in the season finale. No way USC gets into the N.C game. I can't lie though I do have my fingers crossed.

OSU definitly has a way better shot as of today.

WV is a worthy team if they do manage to get to the N.C

WV can be a very exciting team .
Any of the 4 big guys on Off. White ,Slaton,Devine, and reynaud when any have the ball they are a threat to break it 60 yards to the house.

IMO WV can hang tough to with anyone this wacky season

Ohio St. obviously has the best shot..........

heres most likely what would need to happen for USC.....

Beat UCLA and beat them bad and win the conf. with an Oregon loss(UCLA or Oregon St)... that would put them ahead of Oregon and AZ state.....

Vtech loss either this week(virginia) or in acc champ game....

Tennessee to make the Sec champ game and leave Georgia at home, i dont think Georgia needs to lose to be leap frogged by USC if GA doesnt even play for their conf champ.......

WVU loss either this week against(Uconn or next week against Pitt)

Missouri to beat Kansas tonight, leaves Kansas with beating no one and then Missouri to lose the next week in the champ game.......if oklahoma has another sluggish game this week, USC will pass them in the human polls.....

If all that happens, Ohio State would back right into the #1 spot........but play who?....if all that happens it would be LSU or USC.......and the human polls would most likely determine that...

All the espn boneheads have come out and are back on usc's nuts.....cuz they're back!.....not once have i heard about college playoffs this year, until USC handled AZ St.....saying things like USC would run the table in a playoff format....which they may, but the media and experts would love to get USC back in the title picture..........which gives this bet a possibility if a few bounces go your way

I tried to take OSU this morning, but it said that "this event is paused." I assume they have taken this off the board until after this weekend's games?
