Loading up on Wisconsin -6 (buying the hook). This line has been driven unusually low due to Wisconsin's loss to Indiana and Ohio St's win over a ranked Iowa team over the weekend. If Wisconsin had beaten Indiana this weekend, really think this line would be in double digits. As it stands now, though, see lots of value in this line. This is an important bounce-back game for Wisconsin at home and on national television and I look for a strong showing here. Also think that Ohio St. is playing a little over their head at this point in the year. Their shooting has really kept them afloat so far this year, averaging 49.2% overall and 41.6% behind the arc. This is going right into Wisconsin's strength as they have held opponents to 42% overall and a stingy 28.5% for 3's. Ohio St. is also 0-2 both SU and ATS in their only 2 road games this year, while Wisky is 8-0 SU and 6-2 ATS at home. Bottom line is that if we assume that the home court is worth about 4 points (fairly standard), then the oddsmakers are telling me that Wisconsin would be about a 2 -2.5 point fave on a neutral court, and I don't think the talent level of these 2 teams is that close.

Wisconsin -6 10 units

Yeah, up at 7.5 pretty much everywhere now. Glad I got it early. If it goes to 8.5 I will be tempted to go for a middle, but really think this will end up a DD win for Wisky.

rrc - Actually need to update my profile; moved next door to Palatine this past July. Only lived in AH for 2 years but enjoyed it. I grew up not too far away in Glen Ellyn.

I'm on the Buckeyes for a small play here. They are MUCH improved from last year in which one of those losses Wisky handed to them was by 30 pts!!! This game has been circled for Ohio St. to avenge that blowout loss and they come to play here tonight! I know it's risky going against the Badgers at home, but I'll take a 12-3 team avenging a 30pt defeat for a little bit tonight and see if they come out and play with some heart. GL!!

From Capital Times -

The University of Wisconsin men's basketball team may be without the services of Alando Tucker tonight for the Badgers' Big Ten Conference home opener against Ohio State at the Kohl Center.

School officials said that Tucker, the Badgers' 6-foot-5 sophomore forward who leads the team in scoring (16.0) and is second in rebounding (6.4), injured his lower right leg in practice Sunday and is questionable for tonight's game.

Tucker also didn't practice Monday afternoon.

Wisconsin coaches and trainers do not comment on injuries involving players.

If Tucker can't play, his most likely replacement in the starting lineup would be either 6-8 junior forward Ray Nixon (2.6 ppg) or 6-2 sophomore guard Kam Taylor (7.0 ppg).

Thanks marmalade, didn't realize that. Tough to factor that in without knowing if he'll go or not. Seeing lots of -8.5 and it is getting mighty tempting to go for that middle at +9. The only thing keeping me is that I'd have to buy that hook too, and buying 2 hooks is a pretty sure way to juice out pretty bad. If it hits 9, though, I think that will be too good an opportunity to pass up.

. . .and that would explain the line rocketing back to -7. Wisky is a complete team, though, so I still have faith in this one. Not as strong a play as originally thought, but still should cash. Will stand pat at least till halftime.

Well I guess I can't complain that much about a push, seeing as almost everyone else on Wisky got it at -6.5 or more, but COME ON, HOW CAN YOU NOT MAKE 1 FREAKING FREE THROW WITH 3.5 SECONDS LEFT AND NO PRESSURE!!!!!!! :cursin:
