For what it's worth...
It is reported that Ohio State just lost their best O-lineman Tuesday evening to an Achilles injury and is out for the remainder of the year. Their starting Center Seth McLaughlin, who is by far their best offensive lineman this year, will be sorely missed by an offensive line that is arguably the only weakness on this team. I don't see how they overcome this loss. You say it's the "next guy up" mentality, the trouble is, there is no next guy up, because Ohio State's O-line subs have proven not to be very good. I hope I'm wrong because I'm a huge fan, but this is a major problem for Ohio State.

Ohio State's offensive line woes continue in the 2024 season. The Buckeyes, who have had to replace multiple starters this year, are now expected to be without center Seth McLaughlin for the remainder of 2024.

According to a report from The Columbus Dispatch, McLaughlin tore his Achilles during practice on Tuesday. The fifth-year senior is now expected to begin the recovery process and his season and his college career have come to an end.

McLaughlin has been a success story for the Scarlet and Gray, helping to settle an offensive line that has gone through transition this year while making the calls in front of transfer quarterback Will Howard.

Ohio State has already dealt with multiple injuries on the offensive line. The Buckeyes opened the year without starting left guard Donovan Jackson, who missed the first two games of the season with an injury suffered in fall camp. The Scarlet and Gray then lost left tackle Josh Simmons to a season-ending knee injury during the loss to Oregon in mid-October and Zen Michalski, Simmons' replacement at left tackle, two weeks later against Nebraska.
