Know anything about electricity?

Me neither.

But I was once told that current takes the path of least resistance.

I was also told that in order to create an electrical charge (voltage), current must meet and overcome resistance.

The formula I saw on the back of the matchbook was E=I x R (Voltage equals current times resistance).

In ATS terms, the posted number is the "resistance" that both teams must try to overcome.

If one thinks in ATS terms, there are, in effect, 6 ways to obtain a "W".

1..road dog wins outright = W
2..home dog wins outright = W
3..road FAV wins / covers = W
4..HOME FAV wins / covers = W
5..road dog lose / covers = W
6..home dog lose / covers = W

If the posted number (resistance) in the above six situations was the same, let's say 7, and the margin of victory was 7, the first two situations would result in a "W" and the last four situations would result in a "push". If this were so, can we assume that situation #1 created the most voltage?

Whaddya' think?

Makes my old brain work. I don't want to do much of that anymore. But it sure is interesting.
