OK I was just thinking as the first quarter began that I was glad that I didnt bet on the monday night game tonight. Now for the first monday in a long time I could just sit back and enjoy the game. You know not care who won or lost. I had made my pretend plays and I was heavy with nickels and dimes and on the over and the moneyline and on
St Louis and all over the nine points I was pretending to bet so it wouldnt hurt. Ok now lets see what happens. Start the damn game now !

Well to make a long story short all of you who were shouting about St Louis were not reading something into the play . Hmmm lets think about it... The public loved St Louis... we loved St Louis .... we are the public ! OUCH !

We should have seen this coming. St Louis at 8-1 could afford to take a night off. Tampa had to win even though they stink. That has to count for something.
Well I feel for those of you that backed St Louis. I am glad I know enough to take a day off now and then.

I think we need to take his knees out. Simple as that.

Of course I dont know how he would make any money after that.

It was more of a statement I was making rather than looking for replys.

If this forum is open to opinions, then I value yours, and I hope that you will do the same for me.

I am not looking for acceptance from you. I am looking for new ways to look at sports wagering. And the outcome of that will be to to make money. I am about teamwork. I am very competitive and I stubbornly will not quit ever. I believe that MadJack in his wisdom created this forum to bring together people of like minds and interests.

So to get back to your question buddy, uhhh
what was the question ?

I can tell by your post that your a deep thinker. Did you know that Albert Einstein only slept four hours a night. He didnt want to waste his thinking time. I think you would be in a better position than I on your knees. Try to keep from being trampled underfoot.

You are 100% accurate! It's NOT a place for self-promotion and being an arrogant asshole.

I had made my pretend plays and I was heavy with nickels and dimes

WTF does this have to do with the price of oranges? And no, I aint impressed with your nickels & dimes comments. Coins perhaps, but bills I highly doubt...

Good job Grasshopper!! However, to simply make this generalization as your lone criteria for choosing a particular team is very flawed. You're not gonna believe this, but the PUBLIC is sometimes correct! Easy to make yourself look good AFTER the fact!

Tampa had to win even though they stink. That has to count for something.

I'm just glad I had the opportunity to stumble upon these words of wisdom. In some way, my life seems complete. For that, I say, "thank you".

Well I feel for those of you that backed St Louis. I am glad I know enough to take a day off now and then.

More Tarzan self-promotion bullchit! Don't ya think people have better things to do than read your so-called sympathy bullchit? C'mon, give the guys a little more credit than that!

We should have seen this coming

So why not speak up Ms. Cleo? Why not protect us from our idiotic perception of the matchup???

This game was just another and the latest example of people spouting off about the 'public' and 'everyone loves....' and that sort of thing.

In reality, maybe the more vocal people on this site loved StLouis, but if anyone took time to check MadJacks lovely new consensus toy, it would have showed that the wagers were evenly split along the sides. And if anyone read any of the free picks, they'd have seen that all but one person had TB.

Same thing happened in Mia/Buf (although either side you had in that game was essentially wrong because who could of placed their bet counting on the late comeback). There were plenty of people that backed each side.

The point of this is not to jump on anyone that goes against the 'public' as their most essential strategy. But there is no way, in my opinion, that this site is an effective representation of the general betting public. Go to the local VFW or Legion or visit your friendly Moose Lodge and chew the fat with some of those guys. That's more the betting public in my opinion. If you weigh their opinions and take into consideration any of the home team stuff, I think you get a much better feel for whats going on out there.

And really, who cares? The linesmakers don't know any more than we do about who the hell is going to win the game. So any given day, the 'public' might be right or wrong. Sometimes, I think we get too wrapped up in the wrong trends and statistics and miss the forest for the trees. Figure out who the hell is in the best position to play well on a given night and you'll clean up in the long run. Who cares if the public's on them or not. I venture to guess also that the majority of people don't lose their shirts betting because of picking wrong games, but by chasing and whatnot. This is my guess and doesn't have anything to back it up, but I doubt most people would be much below 50% in their picks, but they lose money because of poor money management. So fading the average Joe doesn't mean profititability necessarily. That's my two cents..... fade the public if you want, but make sure you've got the accurate info before you jump. As for me, sure I need some more winners this year, but I couldn't care less if I had everyone and their brother on my side of a game -- last time I checked, Flutie didn't say "oh man, let me lose this just to f--- over the public!"

Good Luck!
