My car starts fine in the morning, but any subsequent starts I have to feather the gas to get it to go. what gives?

An idle air bypass valve can stick shut on a warm engine, interrupting your fuel flow.
It won't stick when cold. I'd suggest asking a mechanic to check that valve.

Usually it's a bad fuel pressure regulator which causes that problem on those cars...but can be lotta stuff, such as one zoomer mentions, or fuel injector leaking down and flooding the engine, or coolant temp sensor gone bad and reading the warm engine as cold...
