The color is weird, and the pixels are all "patchy". Now what!?

Just a hunch...check your Settings/Control Panel/settings/colors and see if they were altered......otherwise did you save your original setup CD that would give you the default settings when you first powered up..If you do any work on this last option be sure to save anything you created on the hard drive.

I had that before. I just unplugged my computer and plugged it back in again and it should reboot. U might then get the Safe Mode option because you didn't turn it off properly, which might affect the pixels on your screen. If this happens, go into CONTROLS/DISPLAY/ and then check your color and resolution rating. It should be set on your highest, probably 764 x 1945 or something like that, i can't remember the exact number. change it and then APPLY and OK, and then reboot your computer, it should come back to normal, if not, then it's probably a government conspiracy to screw people that look at nasty dirty immoral porn.

ALso, when you say you can't change it, u mean it won't let you or you don't know how?? Tell us each step you go through to reach the resolution area and when u try to do it, what exactly happens so we get an idea what or how your computer is reacting when you try to change it.

Also, tell us what is your computer's stats....like windows ME, windows 98, 95, 2000, XP??? What happens when you turn on your computer, does it boot up regularly or does it do something else. Tell us as much info and hopefully someone here can help u more efficiently.

windows 98, and it won't let me change. I can't even click on the option. It is "grey" like some other areas that come up, and you can't change.

Try shutting down your computer and inserting your windows 98 startup disk or did you try that all ready:shrug:

If you can't change the screen size, you have the wrong video driver or it is corrupt. Under your display properties, click on settings then the advanced button. Then click on adapter and then change. If you have the driver disk that came with your machine you can pull the driver from it. Otherwise, select one of the standard PCI graphics adapter.
