believe!

believe!

Felonious Monk, I believe in every word that I have written. Just because somebody is old is no reason for them to have special privileges while traveling. In this day and age EVERYBODY should be considered a threat. Maybe those gentleman who allegedly were waved through weren't of middle eastern descent at all. Maybe they just had nice tans, or were Italian or something. Would that make a difference? Gimme a break!

Petey, if just 3 or 4 people out of every flight are called to the side to be checked again right before entering the plane, don't u think those 3 or 4 should be the most suspicious ones??? That's the point, not everybody gets pulled aside before boarding for that extra check where they search u and your carry on. Hmm, Private Petey's security service checks an 80 year old Caucasion American over a 30 year old Middle Eastern man. Gee, you sure are smart! C4 in the pumps, lmfao at u again!

Six Five.... while i don't disagree that that final *random* search before boarding would be better off searching most likely of suspects....there are rules they follow in how the *RANDOM* makes is equal to all.... there must be someone being searched at all times. as soon as the one being searched is given the clearance to go, they step away and it is the NEXT person that is in line that draws the short straw for the next search. They aren't allowed to make their own rules as to who is suspicious :(

That is actually funnier than Granny with C4 in her pumps.

Keep this stuff coming!

On the course!
This 'security' tactic is a pure joke, anyway. If you want to smuggle a bome on a plane, you will. This measure is taken to give people a false sense of security. Why is it, that every time a security check is made at an airport, that airport fails? There are no 'safty measures' in check. It is a scam, period.

Also, I don't worry about flying, because there will never be another attack like we saw on 9-11-01. No one on those flights had any idea of the scope, or intentions of those people. They certainly didn't think they would all be sacrificed.

Now, every passenger will assume the worst if a plane is taken over in the future, and action will be taken by these passengers to hault that mission. Terrorists are well aware of this.....don't you think?

And for the record........the people I am most leary of, are the ones who say, "I'm not a racist."

Mr Petey demonstrates to us the classic symptoms of political correctness......you just cannot argue with such meatheads.....

This airport screening is a classical example of how dangerous political correctness is:

Political Correctness tells us to not associate suspicions based on appearance. It tells us that it is "wrong" to do such a thing.

The following results:
1. Arabs who DO get screened hence feel discriminated against and complain.
2. The airport screener now feels guilt in considering choosing an Arab due to the political correctness propaganda....he feels like he is committing something morally wrong in "assuming" that this guy might be a terrorist....thus, the screener only screens non-suspects.....this is a defense mechanism known as "reaction formation" and it occurs all the time.......

As a result of this garbage, Arabs rarely get screened at all......

We DO use discrimination all the time and discrimination is not a negative word in all contexts.....I discriminate who I am going to date, what I am going to eat, what I am going to watch etc....

Similary....if some kid comes in on a weekend night asking the grocer for 4 dozen eggs -- he should discriminately not sell them to the customer.....if some white piece of trash who looks crazy or militant comes in asking for 500 lbs of fertilizer and other hazardous/inflammable materials -- the merchant should exercise a little discrimination.....

So Cal
Alot of good and interesting points in here. In a perfect world, we wouldn't have to search your 83 year old grandmother. Part of that is an effort to demonstrate political correctness which by iteself is doing a good job of dragging this country down. However, I am sure many of you guys remember Viet Nam where women and very young children greeted our soldiers with a beautiful basket of a BOMB. While our culture tells us that using women, children and senior citizens in such dastardly deeds, the same is not true for many other parts of the world. It is a fact of life.

YYZ is correct about the airplanes. If there was even a slight threat of a possible hijacking, those people would have their asses run down so fast that nothing would come of it.

And I am a staunch liberal democrat, but I completely support racial profiling at airports, just for the record.

Can't believe I am agreeing with something you said yyz.the second part i mean

If I am on a plane being hijacketed I am going to bolt right up front and tackle someone. Because if we dont the US Gov planes are going to knock us all out of the sky.

Just watched a 60 Min TV show where JetBLue a new airlines has titanium doors bolted closed and CCTV watching the outer cabins. New airines with new planes and good service. 80 bucks one way to most places in florida and growing.

To save costs the pilots come out and vaccum the plane after it lands. Nice to know when the pilots do come out from behind the titanium cockpit door they got a vaccum in their hands and not a gun.

ATTA BOY FREDVILLE:toast:

It is amazing that there are people that could read your post and still argue against it.
Just got back from Asia and went thru lots of airports in China Hong Kong and Phillipines. Piece of cake in each.Never even had a bag checked. States big difference: Had to take of shoes, had little scissorswith less than 1 inch blades to trim mustache taken away, all of which I did not mind considering the circumstances.
However we are to blame as terrorists laugh at us because we have been weaken by the public (and political leaders viaing for their votes)which has guidlines that allows them to go around unchecked. They are aware we allowed our own soilders to be dragged naked and set on fire in Samoli and did absolutely nothing to retaliate. If we would have reduced the whole city to cinders they would think twice next time.
If we turned the Mossad loose they could stop suicide bombings in a heart beat but the bleeding hearts in US won't allow it.
If you'd like to know how I'd be happy to tell you.
Its gonna take a while to for US to gain respect we once had and impossible if we allow the cowards of this country to do our thinking. The only way you can fight terror is with greater terror
which most do not have the stomach for.

Profiling or not, If you have nothing to hide you should embrace the fact that safety is an issue. Any Muslim or Arab that feels otherwise is more than welcome to return to their respective countries. When people refer to the USA they say "the civilized world" for a reason. I have nothing against ANY individuals ,but the Ideals of most arab govenments is FOCKED up.

Based on this, I think we should continue to pat down 83 year old grandmothers, women and kids.......as long as they're Middle Eastern. I'm fairly certain there were no Swedish women greeting the GIs' with bomb baskets in Saigon.

ferdville and others who agree with his post,

I just don't see how picking out a number of individual high profile cases of extremists acting against the ideals of the majority of a group of people proves anything. If a racist person wanted to, they could point out the acts of extremists in any group as so-called "proof" that the group needs to be contained.

The funny thing is that is exactly the strategy Hitler used in rallying Nazis behind the idea of ridding Europe of the Jews. It is also the exact same tactic used by White Supremicists today in "proving" that Jews are parasites and that blacks are inferior. Absolutely one of the most pathetic posts in one of the most pathetic threads I have ever seen on this site.
