What does everyone think about Ole Miss at -7, they are really hot right now? Last time they were 4-0 in the Sec Archie was playing. Does anyone think that they can win the west?

I think they CAN win the west, but i dont think they will. They will win this week verse SC, dont know if they will cover. This game has blowout potential with how well the Rebs are playing, but the Auburn game is looming so as Ny Reb says in his thread it could be a letdown week. About the SEC west, The big game is NOT the Auburn game. I'm not giving us much of a chance in that game with how well Auburn has been playing, not counting the LSU game. Auburn's running game will pound Ole Miss' defense into the ground. The Big Game for the west will be the LSU game in Oxford. Will they beat LSU, its possible. i think LSU is overrated and Ole Miss always plays them well so I think its possible for UM to come out of that game with a W and an SEC West title...

I look for SC to get a big win in Oxford this weekend. SC will control the clock vs Ole Miss weak front 7 who just beat an Arkansas squad without their workhorse. SC was totally dominated by LSU 2 weeks ago, but they actually did some good things defensively in the second half. Ole Miss is not the same caliber of team as LSU, UGA and Auburn who I feel are the class of the SEC. Last weekend SC dominated Vandy, who scored 3 TD's only after falling behind 28-3 in the 3rd Quarter. IMO, Ole Miss will fall out of the Top 25 this weekend for good because they will lose to both Auburn and LSU in the coming weeks.

ole miss is set up for their letdown that we suffer just about every year. This is one reason to play on SC. Also, we have a huge game at auburn next week. We could be overlooking SC a little bit. Also, it seems like ole miss cannot cover a spread of 7 or more points. all these make sc seem like an easy play.

I do, however, warn those who call ole miss's front 7 "weak". They are far from weak. Our two losses have come against Texas Tech (4 pt loss). Had an 11 pt lead with 5 min to go. Everyone has seen how quick TT can score. and ole miss weakness is pass defense. Also a loss to memphis, where biddle dropped TD pass while wide open. Memphis ran 6 trick plays in that game... and they all worked. I don't mean do sound biased, but we have been playing with fire in our eyes since those losses. defense has taken it to another level. holding bama (shaud williams) to under 100 yds rushing (did have 1 40 yd run on a reverse). i don't think sc will be able to beat ole miss with the run. although ark star rb was out last weekend, their backup was a wr w/ experience at rb. he was starter 2 yrs ago. matt jones rushed for fewer yds than eli!!! who expected that. secondary has stepped up, forcing opp to run the ball more often. should have shut out ark last week. only touchdown was when they recovered a fumble on the 17 yd line.

ole miss may not cover the spread. they are in good position to lose. but it is a different world down here in oxford. fans have faith in the rebs. we are playing consistent ball for the first time in years. the stadium is electric. it will be a tough place for sc to play this weekend. sc is coming off 3 home games and only their 3rd away game this year. rebels are really clicking right now. don't see sc as a smart play. if they get down early, i don't see them having a chance.

don't take my opinion as biased b/c i speak in 1st person. don't see ole miss as a smart play either. this game scares me, that is why i am not going to touch it.

i don't see Eli having 2 bad games in a row here. I look for UM's passing game to be successful against an average SC secondary. I agree that UM has a tendency to fade late in the season (they do every year!) but there's no better year for the program to remain consistent than this one. If the UM D shows up again and Cutcliffe allows the offense to open up more (and doesn't get out-coached), this should be an easy win for the Rebs.
Glad to see a lot of people on SC though - hopefully the line will drop...

I do, however, warn those who call ole miss's front 7 "weak".

The 2.8 ypc and 90 ypg that Ole Miss has posted this season has been done with smoke and mirrors. TTech does not try to run, UL Monroe and Ark St are inferior, Ark was w/o R Cobb. Fla, memphis, vandy all ran very effectively vs the Rebs. SC should be able to run for 175+ and control the clock.

SC is pretty good!

SC is pretty good!

Ole Miss' schedule hasn't been that strong.........

Loss to Texas Tech.....who is only off minded and not playing good against stiffer comp.....Loss to Memphis, which ole miss should have won.

Wins against NELA, Ark St, Vandy, (subpar) Alabama, but a good 20-17 win against (above avg, but not the usual) Florida team.

Coach Holtz will win this game outright.

SC only losses to Ga at Ga, LSU at Home, and Tn at Tn, in which they should have won!!!!

7pts....I think that is a gift and I am a Ole Miss fan!

SC +7....get it while it is still a TD
take SC on ML
