Georgia just won the biggest game in Richt's career. All you see and hear is how they are headed to the SEC championship game now to meet Bama. I agree that Auburn may not be much but Ole Miss will give them all they want. Richt couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag and he will prove it this week. They almost got beat by Kentucky looking ahead and now they will get beat by Ole Miss looking behind. :mj07:

Now of course I will take the 13 points but I will have some on the money line as well. Ole Miss is playing decent and they will give Georgia all they ever wanted between the hedges.

Go Rebels :00hour :toast: :00hour

I am surprised by Ole Miss this year, 5 wins to date and looking to get to a bowl game! I dont think UGA loses but the points are tempting. GL

Uga entered the season overrated and after their 1st win over a top 20 team in several seasons, they seem ripe for a letdown

Off topic, does anyone know why uga keep receiving such a soft sec schedule while Florida plays lsu annually and also played bama last season? bama gets a similar break in the west, but it doesn't seem as pronounced as uga's advantage.

Your opinion could very well be correct about what will happen next weekend, but when someone starts a thread with "this was his biggest win in his career" and "he cant coach out of a wet paper bag" then it is difficult to see anything more than a hater hating. BTW I endorse haters and hating as it pertains to SEC football, just dont try and dress it up as "reasoning".

As to the scheduling, it is cyclical and there have been years in the past that UGA was on the short end of it.

The sec needs to stop the permanent opponents in the opposing division. Lsu and fla deal with each other annually, while bama gets the vols as their permanent eastern foe. Ridiculous.

Hope dawgs win by 12 or less

I can understand that from your perspective but as a Dawg fan I cant imagine not playing Aub annually. They talked about changing it this year but there was enough pressure by the traditional rivalry schools to keep it.

Love the points in this one... but think UGA's size up front on both sides of the ball will wear Ole Miss down as the game wears on

I'm sure the Tennessee fans didn't think it was ridiculous when they were in the middle of a 7 game winning streak against Alabama. Since the SEC split into 2 divisions in 1992 Alabama is 10-10-1 against the Viles. But that doesn't really matter since they have been an annual opponent since 1928.

The Tide didn't get any favors a few years ago when 6 of 8 SEC teams got a bye week prior to facing Alabama.

Even though Florida and LSU were made "cross-over" opponents when SEC split in 1992 they have played each other every year since 1971.

i thought i had opened a thread at bamaonline.com.......lol

my take is UGA has had a clear advantage over florida the past 2 seasons to an unheard of extent. LSU twice, bama once and aTm while uga played a series of sec west goats. outrageous.

Closer to home, and as indicated previously in the thread, bama's advantage in sos over lsu is minor relative to what has happened in the east the past 2 seasons. Plus, LSU is the defending SEC champion despite the tougher schedule, so the cream seems to rise more often than not...lol

i think the schedule should be a set to a rotation with no permanent crossover opponenents. of course, i couldn't care any less about rivalries such as UGA AUB, LSU FLA AND BAMA VOLS. Miles and staff want the florida game, as they want exposure in florida, and i'm guessing muschamp is the same way. I just prefer the best team to win on the field with as little interference from conference admin as possible......

i find almost no one agrees with me on this. tells me i must be onto something:0008

it would be a travesty imo to get rid of the deep south's oldest rivalry - just like it's really a shame that Tex/Tex a&m won't play this year

college football rivalries are what makes this game the best that there is to offer imo - the powers that be that are trying to realign the universe obviously don't feel the same way and that sucks

not that i wouldn't like to see the SEC somehow make the scheduling situation a little more even from year to year, but not if that were to take away a rivalry that has been played almost every year since 1892

To bring up 2010. That's one (1) season. One! Alabama has long benefitted from favorable scheduling. Since well before the 1992 expansion. bam played Vandy every year and retained them as one of the two (2) non-divisional fixed opponents until that changed in, I believe, 2003. All while Bryant used every influence available to ensure that their bitter rival (that they care nothing about, mind you) played UT, UF and UGAy every season. Actually worked out fine because we have the best collection of longstanding rivalries in the league.

Further, bam has played fewer games against the rest of the top six (al, AU, LSU, FL, GA & UT) than any other. While I admit this doesn't diminish the fact that they have the best resume in the league, by a fairly wide margin, it is fair to acknowledge that over a period of decades this advantage moves the needle.

Now if only LSU could get all their shit in one sock and wipe the smug fukin expression off of these ignorant hayseed fans faces the world would be a better place. WDE

Yep. My low post count definitely disproves what I said.

Guess I shouldn't expect less from a turd.

How many posts does someone need to have for you to respond to facts?

I'll hang up and listen...

First, I'll simply admit I was wrong. Apologies as I used information from a conversation as gospel.

I should have been more specific also in that my primary thoughts earlier related to the fact that bam did use Bryant's influence to ensure continuation of the Vandy series to advantage. In a number of seasons it was actually an extra game that provided a statistical advantage as to "in conference" winning percentage.

That margin that you note has also diminished over time and, admittedly during the area with which I am most familiar, more recently. Further, that Vandy game allowed the others to "catch up". Since 1950, 1980 and 1992 the "top six matchups:

al - 236, 124, and 80
AU - 253, 135 and 83
GA - 201, 111 and 75
UF - 235, 132 and 88
LSU - 180, 116 and 80
UT - 189, 114 and 78

Nevertheless I was mistaken.

Rolltide72. Let them say what they want. We hopefully can keep doing what we have doing the last 4 years and celebrate as we should. Without talking trash. We don't have too. The scoreboard is my shit talking

Let them talk all the shit and whatever other bs they want! Whatever makes them feel better about where their team's next couple of years will look like
