I'm just not sold on the team we put together. Our bigs are the wrongs bigs for the Olympics.

Dwight Howard, I love the kid and he will be a great but he is the total opposite of what you need. A big man with a face up jumper would be a lot better.

Bosh, again love Bosh but he's nothing special.

Boozer, I like Boozer here. He can shoot or take it to the hoop and is physical.

Prince, not sure what to think but I really feel there are better guys.

Kidd, hahahahhaha I'm a Mavs fan and that's all I'm going to say.(ugh um He sucks and yes I know he's never lost an Olympic game but he was also with some of the best teams ever and it wasn't him that was doing the winning)

Kobe, the best

James, I'm ok with him

Anthony, great if you just need scoring but he'll be even with whoever he guards because he doesn't play defense especially if he has to chase someone thru screens and a moving offense.

Wade, good but will he be healthy.

Paul and Williams, solid choices but experience in Olympics will be big.

Redd, not sure. Kind of like Anthony, the d just isn't there.

Now can I put together a team that I feel is better.

Bigs are.

KG, Duncan and (don't laugh but he has the perfect game for this kind of ball) Rasheed Wallace.

Point
Billups, I'll take my chances with him.
Arenas either at backup point or 2 guard for scoring. I know I know, no d.

Not sure about the rest, I'll have to do some thinking.

I know for sure Rip Hamilton will be on the team, he's a perfect fit for this team and his shooting will be big.

Ah, how can I leave these two out after the finals performance.

Pierce and Allen.

I'll take Pierce over the SFs on the team just because his game is more well rounded.

Allen, is he not just as good if not better than Redd?

My starters would be:

Billups, Kobe, Pierce, Lebron, KG

All of those guys understand team ball when needed, have level headed experience on the court, and all are not afraid to D up.

Could Lebron play the 4 spot in the Olympics? I know he could defend the position.

Dawg, I like Lebron at 4 but the only worry is that the Euro 4s are often 7ft and on the rebounding side of things he might get killed. I doubt it would happen but you never know. On the other end he would tourch their 4s though.

Hmm, I know people love Lebron but I'm not sure he's the best for this team. The teams out there seem to throw a lot of zones at us and I would personally rather have Pierce out there than Lebron. I think I'm just not a big Lebron fan.

Not crazy either about this team...I can see Prince because he plays a few positions but more importantly he plays great defense....you need someone to go out and challenge the pick and roll.Ask Greece how easy it was running that pick and roll over and over again...it was like a clinic...and the US couldn't stop it.Kobe I think should shine because he also can play great perimeter defense..as long as he keeps his mouth shut...love Paul and Williams. But size is a big factor...only 3 power players...think they need someone else inside.Greece is huge..forget Russia...they have 5 or 6 guys all 6'10 or more and almost all of them can stick the 3.can't believe Kidd is on the team...they need another pure shooter. If Redd gets hurt or is off...teams will pack the zone...penetration from Kobe,Paul, Lebron, etc isn't as effective when you have a 7'0 player stopping you and the wing is 6'10 and the help side is 6'9...you kick it out to ..who???? Not sure what solid shooter...maybe Hinrich[did he have a good season?] Who is the best pure shooter in the country that can play some defense?
Dream team days are over. Russia,Spain,Lituania, are no longer in fear..these guys are role players that are good...we have superstars that need to learn to be role players.
I remember Bobby Knight at a b-ball clinic many years ago pretending to talk to his new olympic team..... He said """there are only 2 types of basketball players..."shit shovelers and aristocrats"...and pretending to talk to Jordan said" Micheal...you haven't set a screen in 3 yrs at NC.....you were an aristocrat..but after today..welcome to the world of shit shovelers"...
I think that is what Coach K needs to do...we need some guys to dig in the ditches...

Anyone here think we will win?

I think it's going to be very hard although Kobe and Chris Paul might be the difference.
