Round 1 plays (1pt):
Brett Rumford to beat Gregory Havret -125 @ Five Dimes
Rumford is clearly the form player after his 3rd place finish in the Johnnie Walker Championship last week, but course form is important on unusual courses and they don't come more specialised than a course high in the Swiss Alps. So, in terms of course form, Havret's record of six missed cuts from seven attempts (62nd on the other occasion) point to him struggling to repeat last week's form at this week's altitude. Rumford has made the cut here in each of the last five years, winning in 2007, so it would be fair to expect a big improvement in performance this week.
Bradley Dredge to beat Danny Lee -105 @ Extrabet [tie loses]
The same is also true of this matchup, though Dredge's recent form is more closely matched to his opponent than Rumford's: both Dredge and Lee have recorded top-10 finishes in the last two weeks. This will be Lee's debut on this course, so he should struggle, whereas Dredge's record over the last seven years at Crans-sur-Sierre reads: 4th, 20th, 15th, 1st, 3rd, 55th.
Oliver Wilson to beat Peter Hanson -125 @ Unibet
In the final match, the selection not only possesses the important superior course form, but is, in this case, playing the better golf at the moment - he has finished in the top-30 in each of his last five starts and he has improved in each of his three visits to Crans-sur-Sierre, finishing 23rd, 17th and 5th (in 2007 he held the lead after both the 1st and 2nd rounds). Hanson has made the weekend just twice in four attempts, with a best finish of 40th here.
