Record (2-0)
Iowa -22
Defensively Iowa has not played well so far this season. I think that is mostly due to their very tough schedule, which may or may not pay dividends in getting this team ready for the Big 10. Last four games, all losses does not bode well... but those were to (Bama, Nova... horrible first half, A st... coached by Herb Sendeck and lost at the buzzer on the road, and a tough road loss at Va tech who returns all five starters).
Tex Pa Am last four 3-1 (Tex-Arlington... twice, Tex st. and whoa Huston Tilostatitaintinain... at least I think thats the name).
There are other factors involved like Haluska should go for 30, but overall Iowa is itching to get back in the win column and I think this gets ugly... quickly. Alford will focus on starting off well at the beginning of both halfs so look for Iowa to come out strong at the beggining and after the half. As well we should see a tough defensive effort by the Hawkeyes. Iowa cruises to a nice 27 pt. win here.
NW st. +14
Perfect example of a smaller conference school that is solid and can play. Marquette is just simply overvalued here. Im just not a big fan of Tom Crean. Think they played out of their ass against Duke, who by the way is also overrated. NW st. is well coached, and a solid shooting team. Two things against them here is they are not at home and they are not a strong defensive team. But they get up and down and have been able to get into transition. This is the type of game where they will be highly motivated, and should put out a tough effort. This game may be closer than most people expect. Marquette finds a way, winning by 7.
