Read an interesting article yesterday on whether "the trend is a friend" and should you back streaks. No doubt opinion on this would be strongly divided across the board. I certainly take full notice of trends, streaks, stats on covers etc but may tend to the contrarian side if anything when wagering.

Turek has a .934 save percentage, 1.72 GAA in the playoffs. The Blues are power play killers - teams going 0-34 against them at present - but cold themselves; 0-10. Stars are ice chilly in the pp, 0-5 Sun and 0-24 streak. I hanker that that's gonna change tonite. Stars have to score and Modano's return will help; also feel St Louis' speed and power should see them break the ice - so to speak - in the 5 v 4 stakes.
