I think it varies by site. I'm not sure about where I'm at now, but a previous site I used (Intertops) they took it out and re-calculated the payout.

note to "the mugs"

why are you making fun of the size of your wager?

do you think in order to be "accepted" or "recognized" that you "need" to be a "high roller?"

that's a bad message to the thousands of newbies that visit this forum.

I'm laying odds that I could ask you 2 simple questions and you couldn't answer either one..

Ready?

1. How much of a bankroll are you starting with?

2. What % return do you expect by the end of the NFL season?

Final note: Don't make fun or laugh at money management. It is the only thing that will keep you sane in this very dangerous endeavor.

Mugs, I agree with Buddy. Play within your means, the "go big or go home" attitude is like the prevent defense, it prevents you from winning. Each week my goal is to have a positive net cash flow, whether it be a dollar or a hundred dollars. This has worked well for me.

On another note, I found out my online bookie downgrades multi-team teasers when there is a push (see my other thread).

Buddy,

As someone that has been following the site for a long time, I don't think Mugs was poking fun at the size of the wager. I think Mugs could be a little uncomfortable because there are people on this site that like to toot their own horn and would ridicule the "size" of someone's bets. I've seen it more than once on here. It's sad actually. I do, however, agree with you on the money management. Very important and it takes a lot of discipline to finally follow a game plan consistently. I just think the tone your words give out is a little rough that's all. Overall, I do agree with you so do not take this as a shot. Just trying to look at it from Mugs perspective.

Regarding bet sizes, there are very few successful players here who actually play large and I won't bother naming them. What you will find is that those successful players will NEVER say anything about the size of another man's bankroll, nor how much he plays on a game. They are gentlemen and ladies.

I was a member of another site where one guy constantly bragged about how many 'dimes' he was playing, and he was a pretty good player oddly enough. His presence however caused me to leave the site. Arrogrance is abhorrent.

Buddy,

$500 at week 1

10-15% for the season

====

So maybe I should have been more clear to the newer cappers out there. All I can say now is I'm basically a lurker here and I'm no superhero and this is what I do. I ocasionally post info on weather or answer a question like I thought I did today. I never post picks because I'm finding out it's much harder than the weekly office pool where you pick every game each week for $5 weekly.

The reader, in this case Doveshack, can take me and my post it for what it's worth.

I'm not looking for recognition or acceptance nor did I say anything negative about money management.

Let's move on. Everybody, have a good one.
