See ya later.....probably not until early to mid 2012

will stars and tilt survive?

will the bill pass? most likely

can't wait to see the chaos when everyone requests payouts when they announce the thirty day window if they even do it.

quick sum for those who care and don't know.....bill likely to pass senate before the dems get blasted out in january or feb or whenever basically legalizing online poker....not sites in anyway affiliated with sports gambling or casino gambling. it will be fully legal and regulated by the government. apparently aside from licensing fees, the goverment gets 20% cut of the rake.

THE CATCH- 15 month blackout for all us players and sites supporting us players for the gov to finalize regulations and allow for an open market.

NO TILT OR STARS for 15 months period.

good - regulated by us gov. no more this site is rigged debates.

bad - pay full taxes on everything and having to actually leave home for 15 months.

if anyone does care more than my brief synopsis, there are a million threads on 2 + 2 which go into ridiculous detail.

Does this 15 month blackout open the early door for Party Poker?

I haven't gone to 2+2 to read about it so I know nothing.

It sounds like some places that also do sports like bodog may still be an option.

However if you ever want to legally be in the u.s market you have to be out for the 15 months and then all the places will open on same date.

It sucks about the 15 month wait, but once that is done you have to imagine the new setup will bring it an unlimited amount of donkeys to the tables.

they`re gonna tax it..that`s all they`re worried about......they won`t own these sites outright.....how they gonna regulate what goes on on the inside?.....anybody think that everything that goes on in big casinos is copacetic?...

not a big online poker player, but i thought this post was dead on....

"'MY THEORY:THIS BILL WILL BE PASSED!
WHY:Harry Reid signed a deal with the devil imo. He was way down in the polls to
Sharron Angle this summer and was about even near the election yet won by 30%..
This happened imo because he basically promised to get this passed and give the casinos 1st dibs on everything ...that means Harrahs,Ceasars, all those guys. They intern staged one of the biggest get out the vote efforts in american history including bussing casino employees to the polls and giving perks to employees, Management and the unions which dont agree on anything where somehow lock and step in this effort to get Reid re elected...If this bill is passed guys dont be fools and when poker is up and running again sign up for the Ceasers online poker room. They been treating us like crap for 4+ years now. Blocking our cards taking our money, shutting our sites down we enjoy playing on, and now taking all poker away. The thing is in 15 months they think we will be like trained monkeys and sign up for the site they tell us to. F that if they know we will stay with poker stars they will not pass this damn 15 month ban. I say if they ban us let's stand 100% behind FTP and PS so they gain nothing!"""

the federal gov`t is gonna make things better?....since when?...

they will own the licenses so it's definitely a step in the right direction. one would also think their books to a smaller extent will be public knowledge.

funding and withdrawing will at least be legit. payment processing and one would think payouts would be on the up and up. you won't have to go through 10 steps to fund your account anymore or wait weeks for a check hoping your bank won't have a problem accepting.

there will also be more than 2 legit companies in the free market and if they can't get their customer service in line ie full tilt, then people can choose other sites.

i know the rake gets taxed by the feds...and of course the casinos will pass that on down the line....but do the states get a piece of your winnings to boot?....i guess they`d have to......

you guys will have to make up some ground to turn a profit...

How is this 15 month ban different than the current "ban"?

Why would anyone stop for 15 months?

Looks like this is all for nothing. I just read an article from a newspaper in Vegas. I'd link it but don't want to create any problems for this site.

According to the article legal poker in the US is dead.
